I love Baguio so much. My wife and I lived there for almost a year. We saw the top of the mall blow off during a typhoon. We lived near Burnham Park and loved it. We went to Great Taste restaurant regularly. Walked around Burnham Park, walked to the mall... LOVE LOVE LOVE the mall... the open air concept works perfectly with the weather in Baguio. There was nothing that I didn't love there. It was so amazing, I want to retire there.

BTW... traffic is awful, but if you live in the city center you can walk anywhere (everything is within a few miles at worst). If you are going somewhere out of the city, it's a little rough but it's not a problem once you get out of the city center.

I have been to Baguio twice and I loved it! You can’t beat the weather! The highest it ever got was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit! The new mayor has started a clean up campaign and the streets were clean. The only downside would be the crowds!! People from the low lands would come there for holidays because it is so much cooler it would make it crowded! I think the guy from Florida would like it better there than other places in the Philippines because you can get good internet and also there are two colleges there as well so there are plenty of ladies going to school I Baguio!! I will be making another trip there at the end of June and staying a few weeks!

Bavaria is a lovely area to live. I spent a brief stint working at Augsburg, Bad Aibling and Bad Tolz. It rarely gets too hot in Germany. My only experience with humid heat is Destin, Florida and Augusta, Georgia. I’ve lived in the California desert and Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Both were insanely hot, but it was a dry heat.

I've been to Baguio several times, most recently about 15 months ago, and have not experienced the construction dust or waterfalls of trash. Like many places, it has its plusses and minuses. The weather is much cooler, but it can be foggy. The city traffic is hard. The place is loud, and there is some trash though. Some places have incessant dogs barking and roosters making noise day and night. Some of the new residential developments go for this faux log cabin look, which looks ridiculous and has some poor room layouts. It's a place we are certainly still considering for our move next year.

I will play negative Nelly. Baguio was a disappointment. I've wanted to visit forever, and everyone says how wonderful it is. It was incredibly busy, overpopulated, and the traffic was worse than Manila. Took me about an hour and one-half to go from La Trinidad (just 10 km away) to Baguio. Also, when I was there (about 6 weeks ago) it was quite warm and sleeping in an apartment without air conditioning (most don't have) was quite uncomfortable. Streets were steep and of course sidewalks in terrible shape. (America has best sidewalks in the world.) Not a good city for walking, especially if you are older. And the crowds were just too much for me.

Many foreigners love Filipinas' feminity and sweetness. Many Filipinas are looking for a financially stable man and don't mind if they are older. Many Filipino men are handsome, smart, and sweet, but it's up to each person to define what they are looking for. Here in California, which has a very mixed population of European Latino, Asian, and African descent, mixed-race couples represent more than 1 in 5, and this has grown 200% over the past ten years. Some people find the mixing of races an abomination, but it's wonderful and results in some of the most beautiful children. I predict that in the next 5-15 years, more Western women will come to the Philippines to find a Filipino as a husband.

    • @moonflower8607

@@Learning.Naturally Well said! I can accept that! You’re so right about that.
