The Gilgo Beach Killings: One year after suspect Rex Heuermann’s arrest

  • Rex Heuermann's arrest on murder charges in three Gilgo Beach killings one year ago broke open a case, using a witness' vehicle description and DNA found on a discarded pizza crust, that had long confounded investigators.
One year later, he is charged in the killings of six women and is a suspect in the killing of a seventh.
The list of Heuermann's alleged victims could grow, as the law enforcement task force headed by Suffolk DA Ray Tierney works to determine if Heuermann can be linked to any of the other Gilgo victims' deaths - or any other unsolved killings.
That investigative process will be lengthy. Read about everything we know so far by visiting our page.

Yep! The Sun wrote an excellent article about how corrupt ex-police chief Burke was very close to Heuerman for more than 20 years before the bodies were found.
FOUR of Burke's employees said he flat out asked them where he could get his hands on a sn*ff film! It also talked about how people like that run in groups/clicks.
Then Burke went to prison for severly beating that guy that broke into his car and stole a briefcase that has children videos, s#x toys and a sn$ff film (that promptly went missing).
Burke also got caught soliciting an undercover MALE police officer for s#x by saying "I love to s$ck D**k!" So they said people from his department are calling for him to be investigated in the murder of that small asian male that was found buried near the other bodies. Bodies that REX murdered.
So you can't tell me that Burke, at least covered up for Heuerman - if not joined in the kills. They're both deviants.
That article was unbelievable fascinating and after reading that, I 1,000% believe that Rex and Burke were both involved in some way in all of them.
I believe Burke/Rex were having "kill" parties and inviting s#x workers and making films of their murder - 100%. That's what Shannon was running from, RIP poor girl. So of course Burke is going to kick the FBI out!

The weirdest thing about this whole Gilgo Beach case is what happened with Shannan Gilbert. It makes so little sense. Her driver was with her. She was at a neighbor of her clients house who was letting her make a call. It seems like it has to be connected to the other murders. Was Heuermann working with another killer? Were they drugging their victims and playing some sick cat and mouse game? And what about the driver? He has given media interviews. How can he not know more?

I think they should search other areas maybe a mile or so from where they were found for more victims.
Especially if his wife snd kids were gone more times than they have a victim linked to that time frame.

In northern New York, approximately late 1994 to 1995, I was driving on a highway with my two toddlers in the back seat. We were eating McDonald’s, I kept reaching in the back to hand French fries to the younger one, when I noticed a man in my rear view mirror, he was driving behind me, honking his horn and signaling me to pull over. Finally I did, and he told me that my rear wheel was about to fall off my car and it was dangerous to drive. He offered to drive me and my daughters to safety. He was a big guy with large glasses, wearing a suit jacket. As I was getting ready to take his advice, a state trooper pulled up. I went to speak to the trooper and that man jumped in his car and drove off. The trooper followed me in my car to a local store where I called my husband to get us. We didn’t have cell phones back then. My husband came and determined that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car, and I continued to drive it for years after. I truly believe that had that trooper not came along and stopped, that I and my young daughters would not be alive now. I can’t say the man was Rex, this happened 8 hours drive from Long Island, however when I saw photos of Rex from the 90s, he could have been that man, but I can’t say definitely.

The account came from a survivor. People have a natural tendency not to believe these horror stories. Maybe it's the brain's way of protecting itself.

The connection of Rex Huermann to James Burke needs to be looked into. He was the chief of police. even when he had a criminal history before becoming a cop. His car was broken into by a kid who found a bag with sex toys and handcuffs . He stopped the FBI from investigating the missing women. He was friends with Heuermann through his connection to the gun range. We need to see Burkes DNA matched to some of those girls.

Corruption but also, law enforcement has an issue admitting that their jurisdiction whether its a city, county, state has an active serial killer. Historically, most police departments have a tendency to try to explain away bodies and disappearances as anything BUT a serial killer and this allows the killer to get away with multiple victims before anyone even takes it seriously. This is actually happening right now in Austin Texas.

I dont understand why people are so shocked. Sin and evil have been around since the beginning of time. It will continue until Jesus returns. We live in a fallen world. A world that hates Jesus. A world where greed corruption evil and sin are allowed to breed. Instead of cultivating seeds of love joy patience kindness gentleness and self-control. We indulge our fantasies of lust anger hate and revenge and then wonder why we are in the trouble that we are in. Unless we can remove all sin and replace it with Jesus it will not go away on its own.

I cannot imagine how they needed that money so bad best to get in the sex workers line of work. And if there wasn't any demand we wouldn't have prostitution. Apparently it's the oldest profession in the world. We shouldn't be putting the sex workers down we should be arresting and shaming The Men Who pay money to get sex. It's their game. This is why we see so many psychopathic serial killers. Because we live in a patriarchy is it basically teaches toxic masculinity that makes it an unsafe world for every woman, not just sex workers.
