Well someplace I read that Vi got amnesic at some point. Or maybe she eventually just sick af being used as scapegoat.
It's especially that these interactions were written years BEFORE the release of Arcane and therefore the whole background around Jinx and Vi. Until the release of Arcane, we only knew that Jinx "claimed" (we can never be sure of anything with her) to have a sister who was "even crazier than her". A lot of people thought it was Vi, but there was no proof and most of the interactions between Jinx, Caitlyn and Vi boiled down to one criminal taunting two police officers.
@@xCoatlicuex Nah, simple answer is Arcane isn't league canon, almost none of the characters' stories fit their league lore, especially Viktor's, they done him the worst.

To be fair Arcane is a prequel to League, so some characters have the opportunity to develop into their League selves (particularly Viktor). But yeah a lot of fundamental background stuff doesn’t work for a lot of them, though I feel this is worst in Vi. Considering Arcane has her as a victim of police brutality, it’s weird for most of her lines in League to boil down to “haha police brutality funny”. Vi as an Enforcer *can* work even with her Arcane self, but I don’t see Arcane Vi ever fully becoming League Vi unless they go for that stupid amnesia thing again.
@@Semilamist They have changed the lore plenty of times in the past, and they likely will again once Arcane is complete. Before they weren't as in depth and didn't have to think of them on such a large scale tied together. Besides, Arcane is definitely far before League due to their ages so they would still develop further.

This fits in with a alternate universe theory I have about if powder was arrested himerdinger would take her under his wing to work with him victor and Jace in a community service/ parole situation.

I love how LoR Ekko is the only person who is sad in his interaction with Jinx.
Edit: Since people are explaining to me that Arcane takes place before the league lore and thus the diffrence in attitudes... I know guys, I've played the game for over 10 years, I've been there for these characters releases when Vi and Jinx were only speculated to be sisters. I do think that it's a huge leap for Vi to turn her attitude around this drastically. There's also the fact that arcane isn't a 100% in line with the canon lore so we should be looking at some retcons in the game lore, since we know they've done it numerous times before (what have you done to Zac riot, we will not forget). It's also worth noting that the game takes place in somewhat of an alternate universe which is even noted by some characters and not all the voice lines are accurate to the actual champion lore. Some examples of this are them breaking the 4th wall, others are actual unplanned discrepencies between voice lines and lore existing due to lore retcons that weren't implemented into the game voiceover or just not caring about the differences. Now I do not play lor but I think it's safe to assume that this is also the case for that game. I just found it interesting how the show portrayed their dynamics vs how the game does.

The explanation for that is that when Vi and Jinx came out, Arcane wasn't planned. The concept of Arcane began developing around 2015 according to the sources. And Ekko came out by that time. You can see Powder on Ekko's shrine in his trailer. While none of Vi's and Jinx's promotion materials feature each other.

@@sb3937 Riot Games has confirmed that Arcane is a prequel to the game. So we will possibly see some signs of hatred for Jinx in season 2. Plus in Arcane, you have to pay attention to the body language and facial expressions to fully understand the character.

HERE’S WHY VI TREATS JINX DIFFERENTLY IN LEAGUE VS ARCANE LISTEN UP:
Lore fan since 2018. Not an expert and not all champions but some such as the Piltover and Zaun people. League Vi’s backstory is entirely different from Arcane and she suffers from amnesia but even before the amnesia she was still a good person that only did crimes with her sister so they would survive. After the mine collapsed on her from when she saved innocent people during a heist which is the event that caused her amnesia, Vi became an Enforcer to fight the corruption of both cities which is the same goal Arcane Vi is after (so I guess both Vis still share similarities) and to live with a fresh start. As Vi’s life in Piltover went on, she slowly started remembering certain bits of her rough past but not everything. So because of those things we don’t even know if Jinx is aware of Vi’s memory issues and we don’t know if Jinx even told Vi that they’re related so of course Vi’s view of Jinx and the way she talks to her in League is different and heartbreaking but also makes sense. On top of that, we don’t even know if Ekko is aware of what happened to Vi, how her memory is still affected, and why she’s an Enforcer now so we can’t tell if Vi sees Ekko as a stranger and if Ekko sees Vi as some sort of traitor in League.
Additionally, the lore doesn’t state whether or not Caitlyn has met Jinx before the mine collapse that separated the sisters and took Vi’s memory so the way Caitlyn talks to Jinx clearly shows Caitlyn knew her when she started committing crimes as Jinx and not for any other person or criminal Zaunite empire. So it wouldn’t be surprising as this shows they’re more likely strangers to one another vs them in Arcane where Caitlyn may not know everything but she can still tell that Jinx was a different person before and that something obviously happened for her to be the way she is now.
The weird part is that League, Arcane, and Legends of Runeterra aren’t connected to each other and that Arcane isn’t canon but Swain, Fiddlesticks, Warwick, and other champions in League are referencing what Powder/Jinx did at the end of Act 1 Arcane and there are some Arcane references such as the stuffed toy bunny that are also made in Legends of Runeterra.
