Turns out Space Michael is in this game becasue the real Michael Jackson liked the game so much that he asked SEGA to add him, and they did.
yeah he got a cameo in the first game and then got to be a major player in this second one. I guess Sega and Mike were all buddies again long after the Sonic 3 issues.

Man, watching this game again gives me a tear: I remember playing this game everyday, wanting to unlock every costume and everything - which I did eventually - and I remember this game being a gift to me from being a good boy at school.

There is a great pc port on steam that has some improvements. Although the xbox controller isn't great for this game. The joystick can be a bit goofy

When I first seen this game I was like "That's just Simon Says. What's the point?" and now after playing it myself... This is definitely one of my favourite games of all time. It feels like your playing an album with how amazing the soundtrack is and the gameplay is simple yet engaging. And god damn the style, its just all perfect. Definitely a masterpiece in my eyes. It even made me nostalgic even if I never grew up with this game. And listening to the credits theme just brings me to tears. ❤

There was so much potential for this to be a huge franchise akin to Sony and Crash Bandicoot was, but the doom of the Dreamcast cut that short. Now we do have it on Steam, but not as a new game...
There's still hope! They remastered the first one on VR, probably to test out some PlayStation stuff and to keep us with them

@@alxandro5504 i think it was bad tbh.. Ulalas new va sounded like a generic anime PBS kids show instructor... Her saying chu was off.. That and the groovy 70's 80's era feeling was gone.... They tried to make a jpop kpop girl band with the jaguars, the singing sections were watered down. Fuse had a fake sounding emotionless voice. Ulalas backup dancers where..... Generic looking and forgettable. Pudding did nothing i was happy to see her but she was pretty much just a cameo. The 1p0 stage dance battle was reused from part 2 and dumbed down HARD. And glimmer was... Under developed and kind of a purge knock off.... The game kinda was awful.... In terms of part one and two... Though the best part was having miku hatsune ive waited so long for a cross over and it finally happened. Also sayu from no straight roads did a crossover too... Waiting for bayonetta that be cool

Honestly, not nearly as bad as her tentacle comment when fighting the plant monster. Just switch between the scene where she saves the dog trainer and the one with the tentacles. You'll get whiplash trying to figure out who the audience is supposed to be.

This was done on Extra Mode.
That's why "Pudding" was changed to "Padding" along with "Pine" being changed to "Texas".

I used to hate rhythm games because of that stupid minigame from Shark Tale on Ps2... but when I tried this one I fell in love with these kind of games, now I don't just love rhythm games but also Space Channel 5 Part 2 is now my favorite game of all time!!!
I just wish the Space Channel 5 games were more popular... more people should know about these masterpieces!
I think for me that Shark Tale minigame is much easier than Space Channel 5 Part 2 ,oh lord how much I have suffered every moment during Report 4 after saving Space Michael

@1:12:26 It's hilarious to me how they have those sweeping shots of Pudding and Pine telling you to hit the appropriate buttons but since they only have voice lines for English actors with the Playstation buttons they just take them out and they don't say anything in the English Pc and Xbox versions. Setting these versions to Japanese doesn't have the same problem as The Japanese voice actors recorded lines for both Dreamcast's A and B buttons and Cross and Circle for PlayStation. At the start Ulala also says "Roger" to nothing for the same exact reason @6:45

Wow I didn't know there were so many differences between this and the ps2 english version. Like 'Padding' is just 'Pudding' in that version among other pretty big differences.
The change in pudding to padding is because this would be a second play through. once you finish the game the first time you'll get to do the same levels again but with slight differences and a slightly higher difficulty. ^^

Genuine Question: what's up with Pine/Texas (the space police)? I've seen a version where she's known as Pine. Is it a difference between the Sega and Steam versions? How many variants of English are there?
This is the Extra Mode of the Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Texas is Pine's twin sister. After you beat the game, you unlock a mode where you replay the same levels, however some moves and characters change. In Pine's case, she is replaced by her twin sister. You can also notice at 23:52 that this not Pudding, but actually a different character called "Padding".
