The flow picks are God tier. My bandmate introduced me to the standard 1m flows. I now use the 1.4mm and haven't looked back since. Perfect attack, minimal pick noise and super super grippy

I use both Andy James and John petrucci flow picks. Andy's are a little bigger and I like them for rhythm. For sweeping and hybrid picking and tapping I like the petrucci picks cuz they are slightly smaller but the beveled edges are amazing for alternate picking. They are all I use!

Jim Dewd Guitars I have the JP ones and regular jazz 3. do you think the andy james ones are he best for lead such as fast scales and sweeps?

@@scylla8270 if you have bigger hands you should be fine but i notice when i try to do certain tapping and hybrid picking that the AJ ones are a little too big but I'm sure it could adapt as well.

There’s no drag. It glides over the string. Hey, Matt...Matt here-you just fucking killed me! Symptom of the Universe! You made my day!
Those picks are amazing. I’ve been using metal picks for the last few years, made out of old silver coins. Why? Because they were the best sounding and playing picks I ever used. I shaped them like the Andy James pick-beveled edges and shaper point. The problem was, live, I’d get aggressive and rip up my guitar. I just ordered a whole bunch of “unusual” picks and out of all of the materials, shapes, thicknesses and stiffness’ this pick ruled them all.
Thanks, Matt! I know I’m late to the party, but my wife doesn’t seem to want to hear about this amazing pick, for some weird reason. Your enthusiasm is great!
I’ll be using these live on St. Patrick’s Day. Come have a beer with the Functional Idiots at Bowery Electric, NYC, opening for Murphy’s Law!

Also just noticed as well your 2 point of contact picking technique has come on in leaps man. It's awesome to see how much you're continuing to progress as a player

The flow picks have such a soft attack I'm not sure if I like it. Try a Jeff Loomis signature and listen to the difference.

I have a pack of these flow ones, a tin of the yellow ones prior to the flow picks, and his old ones the black .88mm ones i believe

I might have to check these out. I've been using 1.14mm Ultex picks for about a year now, and love them, but maybe it can get even better.

Hm, I used the 1.38 Jazz III XL, and then I decided to try the 2 mm flow pick, i enjoyed the smoothness of it, while still having a relatively pointy end to give some articulation. But, the articulation that the Jazz III gives is way better, so for ultimate articulation I would still go for the Jazz III, but for a combination of some articulation together with a lot more smoothness, I would suggest the flow pick.
