Kawasaki Z900RS - 3 Inexpensive, Quick & Easy Mods Reviewed | PYRAMID PLASTICS | PUIG Hi-Tech Parts

  • Pyramid Plastics sent me 3 custom mods to fit to my Kawasaki Z900RS. I unbox, install, and review the colour-matched items. There's no pressure; I give my honest opinion of the quality, fit, finish and ease of installation of these 3 additions to the Kawasaki Z900RS. While Pyramid Plastics do their own custom parts for hundreds of bikes, they also offer items by Puig and Ermax. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

    Hugger looks really good. High quality looking product. Makes you wonder why Kawi didn't go the few extra inches for the obvious difference that's going to make keeping grunge off your bike.

      Thanks, Sludgy. As for short huggers, it's all about fashion and convenience: I suspect they had the OEM one in the parts bin from some other model...Was at the Rusted Rake yesterday sipping on a "wandering scottsman spruce tipped ale". Thought of you. Cheers!

    The price of the windscreen is excellent and the hugger is a must have. Did you do a test drive of the new screen, I didn't hear that you did but maybe I missed it. Thanks for the video on one of my all time favorite bikes. Have a great weekend.

      Haven't test ridden it yet, but will do, certainly, although I think the impact on air flow will be negligable above the naval. Cheers.

    Off-topic, but SO glad you still have the beautiful Griso. I’d like a V100, but already have a BMW R1200 RS for touring. One day I’ll get a Guzzi, the next one they do will be a new Stelvio - that may be the one, if not too tall. Good vid - the Z900RS looks great.

    • @BlueMarbleRider
      @BlueMarbleRider  Před rokem

      Thanks. Neither the Guzzi Griso or Z900RS will be leaving, they're such great bikes, even for a v100. The Vstrom, on the other hand...hmmm!

  • @uneasyr1der
    @uneasyr1der Před rokem +2

    Awesome video, thanks! The silver bits (heel guard, side panels, radiator side cover, front fender bracket covers) on the Z900RS drive me crazy! They match nothing else on the bike and always stand out to me, they should be black or chrome. It would be great if Pyramid would make replacement parts for these as well?

    • @BlueMarbleRider
      @BlueMarbleRider  Před rokem +2

      Probably not, as Pyramid are mainly plastic, although it's a good call. You have two choices though: one paint them, or two www.motocomposites.com/products/radiator-covers-in-carbon-with-fiberglass-for-kawasaki-z900rs-2017-2019.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAi8KfBhCuARIsADp-A57WQyeutjpu5E4sEIbonG4Pco3bPwiZZqE7Tl-RDay2naaOS-m2GUoaAssXEALw_wcB

  • @jaspersoda8286
    @jaspersoda8286 Před rokem +1

    Having watched your previous AWESOME clip on the Chic fairing I ordered one - due to serious bubble head over 110km/h. Waited the painstaking 5 mths - great improvement up to 160 km/h; although noticed the wind not necessarily affecting my helmet but - as I think you noted - hitting me in the chest. I have subsequently added a matt black plastic 'defuser' to the top of the Chic fairing. Gone are the classic looks toward more urban industrial - but the wind protection . . . 170+ (excuse the pun) without a breeze! For that reason I would probably shy away from the Puig.

    Hi BMR, I see you're a Saints fan when in the UK! 😉
    I think Puig is pronounced 'Pweeg' as they're Italian. Good kit, I've had a couple of their flyscreens.
    I'll catch up with you when you work on the Griso updates, looking forward to that, we can swap notes!

    Aesthetically your original screen is better. It fits with overall feel of the bike. The Puig, although maybe excellent function wise, doesn’t seem to “go” with the overall look.
    Cheers.

    • @BlueMarbleRider
      @BlueMarbleRider  Před rokem

      Agree, although some owners of the more colourful models have shown me their colour-matched puig screens, and they look very good. But, yet, on my bike, the Chick is my personal favourite too. Cheers.

    That seat looks great! Wasn't convinced when I watched the install video but really does look good. Only had my bike for a few weeks and loving it apart from the seat comfort. Does this seat cover add any comfort? I wonder if adding it to the original rather than replacing the original would add comfort.
    The hugger looks awesome but I'll be sticking with my own custom-made cap covers (a couple of screwtop wine bottle caps stuffed over the top of the with double-sided velcro tape - quality!).
    Keep up the good work on the vids.

    • @BlueMarbleRider
      @BlueMarbleRider  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I wouldn't say the seat cover adds much comfort. Saw an interesting and highly subjective seat the other day - certainly comfortable, but the looks depend on your perspective. It's a Bagster seat, with Bultex foam. If you are a member of the Z900RS forum (easy and free), then take a look at this: www.z900rs.co.uk/index.php/topic,1818.msg29072.html#msg29072
