- Think you have to settle for drab interiors just because you’re renting? Not according to Jodi Gilmour... From recent grads and urban professionals, to single parents and growing families, the real estate agent, rental expert, and host of For Rent guides desperate but hopeful renters to budget-friendly new homes, and then performs magazine-worthy makeover miracles on a dime.
HGTV... please make more episodes of this Show..Love watching Jodi as Host very professional and beautiful.
I agree 👍 she is so professional. I want her to help me look for an apartment in New York. Would be awesome 👌
I love this show. Greetings from California to all Canadians! ❤
If the renter did not spend so much money on "stuff", she could afford to spend more on rent.
This is one of my favorite episodes because I am a kitchen person. And you can't beat having good friends!
This use to be one of my favorite shows thank you for sharing :-)
Toya Wimley Why used?
Mine too!
i wish she made more shows/seasons for this.
sooooo happy i found this channel!! i have searching for episodes of this awesome show for years!!!
Best show HGTV ever had!
No... ALWAYS move in winter! You'll always be able to find a lower price for a new apartment or home, whether you're renting or buying. It's a huge real estate secret! ;)
You're right. If you can handle moving in the cold, you will find more property available and can negotiate a little.
That’s when the market slows down.
Man she is picky, like Jodi said it’s a rental
I agree she is a bit of a princess for the money she has the apartments shown were very good.
A hideous princess
adore the re-do. still, i can not understand why she was so wedded to that dirty old sofa.
I cannot believe how cheap the rents were in Toronto just a few years ago. The prices are insane now in 2020! At least double.
I think this was published in 2016 but the show aired in 1996ish.
I remember watching these around 2010 ish when they were first aired. Rents have double in Vancouver as well in the last decade. $ 2,000.00 ish for a 1 bedroom.
I remember watching these on HGTV satellite in 2010-11 from US, but didn't get uploaded to YT until 2016........prices are astronomical now everywhere
Good show.
i really like this show, will you be uploading more? Unfortunately, I cannot get Canadian tv here. btw, thank you for these.
im glad i came across this show For Rent and never heard of it while watching HGTV househunters, im currently looking for a 1 bedroom but here in the LA area. A descent place with great amenities would start you around $1300+ . Ugh
what ever happened to For Rent
"It's close to me"
Over and over.
First introduction to this show & I found it enjoyable. I wonder if anyone knows if HGTV foots the bill for the renovation? I have a feeling that they do.
Cream of the Crop I don't think they do. They always talk about the budget that they have to decorate, and it is not always the same amount for each person. Either that, or they really do have a set limit as to how much they're going to spend on each person, and it is not in the thousands.
I think as long as it fit Jody's ideas, HGTV paid for the updates. Anything else would have been up to the renter.
How old is this show and in what City does this take place? These apartments (especially the second and third ones) would go for around $1,600 bucks or more (NOT including utilities) in Colorado. lol
It's Toronto
JODI I NEED YOUR HELP IN NEW YORK 😁
Hello, it's my first time seeing this show, and I'm looking for a new place, why does the presenter saying she can do renovations ..if it's renting? How does this work? Can anyone advice ? Thank You !
Alva Juascie You have to ask the landlord if they're going to be OK with things like paint and stuff.
Jodi is a cool, heart-warming, kind, intelligent, & passionate about her work. I would love for her to show me some..beautiful apartment that’s within my budget. some of her clients though are good people & others complain just about everything in the apartment that she shows them. nothing wrong with few things that they don’t like about the apartment but acting like an inspector gadget being..nip-picking is right down disrespectful. I feel sad for Jodi though that she have to deal with most of her clients that have bad attitude,so annoying, picky, judge-mental, & so vain as some of them...giving Jodi a hard time. especially” she asked her clients what..? would be their wishlist in a rental apartment but some of them don’t even be specific enough in details of renting the apartment. in the end Jodi doing makeovers in the apartment which I have no idea she does that yet.. her clients with their selfish & cheap a**es doesn’t..offer her anything to her like drinks, sandwiches, cupcakes or anything for her hard work.
Is her friend's name Joanne or Julian?
The presenter looks like Sophie Ellis-Bextor
I would like to know how to get in touch with Jodi I need her help I am a single woman just got my first apartment, it needs life. And I know if anyone could bring my place to life she definitely can ☺️
The show ended like 12 years ago lol
Where is this is it Boston or Michigan
Probably Canada. Toronto area I think. You can tell by the use of words like "hydro" and "en suite".
Toronto.

Beautiful smile. Nice blonde hair too. And a lovely figure. Quite a lovely young woman. I'd like to have a girlfriend like her.
Go for it. I'll take her friend with the nerdy-librarian glasses.
Yeah? cool.... should we go on a double date?
Are you kidding .
