The whole album is worth reacting to
Agreed. Its a masterpiece.
PREACH
💯
I concur
For real though, it is
If you want another full album to react, this is it.
Either this one or Ascendancy. Both perfect albums.
This or ascendancy
@@flxrian.0323 both masterpieces of Trivium, together with In Waves but i like Shogun the most
🎶KIRISUTE GOMEN!!!!!!!!🎶
Please.... By please... Do it
That was my favorite song at one point and on repeat :)
@@mannistef I think it's le of the best album opener ever. Yet I think it's the best on the album. I just damn love the sheer agression and how it gives the tone right away
A gunshot to the head of trepidation has always stood out in my mind, that and its content about child abuse.
Also, He Who Spawns the Furies
shogun and kirisute gomen was my favorite song in entire metal songs
Just had to wait for Alex to get to the juicy middle part and I knew he'd be sold on this song.
This is not Alex Bent, he came along for The Sin and the Sentence, this was their original drummer and the last album he drummed on, Travis Smith
And he remained their best drummer until Alex joined around 2017.
@@SefniAsheforr honestly thats a fair take. Besides Alex, I think Travis was their best drummer as well.
They're best in different areas. Alex is more consistent, can play faster, and has more technical skill, but Travis had better groove and wrote better fills. That's something the other guys never had.
@@SefniAsheforr idk bout that. Nick augosto had some hits too
@@chrismeadows4216 If you could combine Travis' creativity and feel with Alex's technicality and professionalism you'd make the best (Trivium) drummer
The whole album is really good.
The best one.
masterpiece*
Perfect from star tu finish!
really good is an understatement
Yes it is.
I think that the drummer of this album was Travis Smith but I'm not sure at all. The Sin and the Sentence was the first with Alex Bent
this was Travis' last record with the band. they've had 4 drummers since. i'd love to see Alex Bent do a drum cover on this. I'll bet he takes it up a whole couple notches over the original.
You are right
You are correct sir :)
@@koolBOY8323 Alex is a phenomenal drummer and I'm not taking anything away from him, but what you just said is the exact reason I can't really get into his drumming.. He's fast, technical, but he lacks discipline. It just sounds like he's trying too hard to do so much that it makes it unoriginal. He doesn't have to "take it up a whole couple of notches" to impress. That being said, he's a super nice guy!
Thought Alex Bent came in on Silence In The Snow🤔 I’m probably wrong, so don’t attack me.
Ascendancy is a masterpiece , listen this album.
Listen to Shogun top to bottom, no questions asked.
Shogun, Shogun, Shogun.
I will do this , ty.
Shogun.
Indeed.....
@@MardyBum100291 If it is more like this song, I will stick to Ascendancy thank you :P
Shogun is my favorite song of all time, hands down, ever. If I could only listen to one song until I die, this would be it. No contest. It's an absolute masterpiece.
For years we have requested. Now we finally receive!!!! Thank you
Trivium rule. If you're still wanting to do full album reactions, Shogun, In Waves, and Ascendancy are musts. But so are Ember to Inferno, Vengeance Falls, The Sin And The Sentence, The Crusade, What The Dead Men Say, and Silence In the Snow.
Only Shogun is worth it ngl
The Crusade is fucking epic as hell!!!!! So is Ember to Inferno!!
Silence in the Snow is probably the weakest album the songs aren't bad for themselves but the album as a whole isn't really good
@@crowpit5025 gotta agree, but it's definitely got some high points. I remember not liking it when it came out, but after a while I warmed up to it for the most part.
One thing to remember is to NOT do the music videos for Ascendancy songs. They cut so much off of the songs.
"oh god.... no... hurry, do more! ow!" lmfao love ya alex
You’ve gotta react to this whole album please. This is by far their best album imo!!
OMG YES HE DID IT !!!! After more than a year of waiting and requesting , its here! After the metallica album you should do their whole Shogun album , its stunning
The album as a whole is underrated. Lots of hidden gems. Down From the Sky, Throes of Perdition, Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Kirisute Gomen, Into the Mouth of Hell We March, Like Callisto To a Star In Heaven just to name a few lol
Underrated? I think its their most loved album and all other albums are getting compared to Shogun
@@CartmanRobin Not in this day and age. I've not seen a single reaction to old Trivium songs where people weren't constantly mentioning Alex like he's the greatest drummer of all time and saying "Please react to something from The Sin and the Sentence, it's their best album". The classic era is unfortunately being overshadowed and pushed aside, and that's why Ascendancy and Shogun fans have to mention them more so people will actually react to the songs that made the band famous. It's a huge predicament because most reactors don't do more than a few songs from an artist. It's taken Hef years to get here, and he's actually met Trivium in that time. Being outnumbered by rookies who prefer the most recent material in all cases when there's such a clear quality in the old material is an injustice of some kind.
I think Insurrection off Shogun has their best riff
@@markgonzales3588 idk fam, the Like Callisto riff is pretty cool 😉
@@chrismeadows4216 My favorite riff is the one from Into The Mouth Of Hell We March.
There are few bands that I will listen to every single song on every album, Trivium is on that list! They just freaking kill!
A big thing to remember is that this is Travis Smith's last record Drumming for Trivium.
If I’ve learned anything that makes Trivium stand out, it is definitely that they always make 1 song sound like 10 songs 😂 They always put so much effort in everything, the vocals, guitars and drums. You can’t choose which ones the best cuz they’re all amazing. 🙏🏻
There's something about this song that always gives me goosebumps and makes me tear up, especially during the chorus. Shogun is SUCH an epic song. It's just total perfection, in my opinion.
Was not expecting this today but I’m so glad this landed on my birthday, my favorite band in the world and Alex is an amazing dude. Trivium reaction is what brought me to Alex and was the first reactor that I gave a chance. Only handful that I’ll keep up with and Alex is number one for me.
A day late but happy birthday brother
You should try "Of Prometheus and the Crucifix". It's from the same álbum, and it's a hell of a banger.
Dark Moor - Maid of Orleans
Iron Mask - Oliver Twist
Amorphis - Silent Waters
Oh man finally! I've been waiting literal years for this, and it has been so worth it. This song, Ghost Love Score and The Greatest Show on Earth all have the power to take you on a journey you never knew you wanted, or loved, to go on.
Oh yes lol, next you should do into the mouth of hell we march, imo its their best song
Its actually my favorite song of all time lol
Fuck that part towards the middle where he sings *Into the mouth of hell we march* is the most epic moment of my life
@@vripidiskiparissis511 yesss
Mouth and Torn are amazing songs. That melodic part is so amazing live.
My favorite Trivium song, and so underrated. Absolute masterpiece. Top 10 all time metal songs for me
This is the album that made me pick up a guitar, and it still holds up over the years! It’s my favorite Trivium album, followed by Ascendancy, What The Dead Men Say, and for some reason The Crusade!
"for some reason", because it's epic 80's thrash era inspired modern Metal!
I tend to find And Sadness Will Sear, This World Can't Tear Us Apart, and Detonation are 3 of Trivium's most underappreciated and impactful songs. If you listen to them and pay attention to the artistry and the lyricism, they hit hard in a very special way, and tracks like Entrance of the Conflagration, Becoming the Dragon, To the Rats, and Contempt Breeds Contamination are just monstrous. The title track is an incredible example of how talented the band was instrumentally. The Crusade is a solid album, and I can overlook 3 or 4 tracks that aren't amazing.
@@chrismeadows4216 Yeah, The Crusade doesn't deserve the hate it gets, sure they changed up their style and ditched most of the screaming, but the tracks are still enjoyable, I honestly prefer it to most of their post-Shogun material. I find myself listening to Tread the Floods, This World Can't Tear Us Apart, Becoming The Dragon, and Anthems the most.
The Rising and Unrepentant are the only songs that I find unsalvageable. That's a good thing. When I listen to Vengeance Falls or Silence in the Snow, I find myself only liking 4 or 5 songs. The Crusade is really a worthy album in the classic era, in my opinion. It could use better production, and Detonation is better with screams as Matt proved on the Shogun tour, but it's a nice change.
@@chrismeadows4216 And sadness will sear is easily one of the best Trivium songs ever
Still get freaking goosebumps from this song easily my favorite trivium song
Masterpiece. One of the best songs of that decade.
This one is a masterpiece!! Finally
you MUUUUST react to this whole album and so ascendancy
Alex's neck aching and massage when the lyrics say "Time will not heal all of your pain, I cannot wait for it all to come crashing" is so damn coincidental of meta.. xD
Trivium is one of the few Bands that nearly dont have weak Songs and getting better from Album to album
Trivium are not that good actually. Ascendency and Shogun are pretty good, the rest is pretty boring
@@josephstalin2829 You haven't heard The Sin and the Sentence
@@TCsInspiredVlogs I've heard The Sin and the Sentence, and while it's their most listenable alum since In Waves, it doesn't even hold a candle to Shogun.

Trivium Drummers / Studio Albums:
-Travis Smith (1999 - 2009) - Ember to Inferno, Ascendancy, Crusade, Shogun.
-Nick Augusto (2010 - 2014) - In Waves, Vengeance Falls.
-Mat Madiro (2014 - 2015) - Silence in the Snow | now plays in the band From Ashes to New.
-Paul Wandtke (2016 - 2017) - Touring drummer only.
-Alex Bent (2017 - present) - Sin and the Sentence, What The Dead Men Say.
Trivium - RAIN
It's moments like these that just increase my love for Trivium even more. This is more or less what my first time listening to this song was like. Long live the best band in the world.
Travis Smith was the original drummer, this was his last album with Trivium
Someone literally challenged me today to listen all Trivium's discography and learn all the lyrics, so thank you, you helped me with one song :)
Shogun album should be in every Metal heads collection. Great reaction dude,
I would never steer you wrong. This is my favorite Trivium song.
Another good song is Now We Die by Machinehead.
'Now We Die' is awesome. That album 'Bloodstone and Diamonds' is an underrated masterpiece.
This is the one I’ve been waiting for! Shogun truly is Trivium’s epic masterpiece.
Holy shit, Shogun FINALLY!
"What a damn journey..." Well this is just a part of it.... you must listen to the entire album, piece by piece in a row non stop... This is just the great finale; you need to go through the entire music experience that is the Shogun ALBUM
Favourite thing about this album is the same melody used for Shogun’s chorus and the Kirisute Gomen intro
Glad you mentioned that mate. How brilliant! I love the creativity and thought put into it. As most of us have said on here, this is simply a masterpiece and hands down my fav song ever!
The entire album is just amazing
About time you did Shogun. Such a great album. You should definitely react to the whole album
Do trivium like you did Metallica. You won’t regret it.
Thanks Alex for your awesome reaction to my favorite song of all time, Shogun by Trivium
I've seen Trivium in concert a few times. They are without a doubt my favourite live experience!
Also, you should react to this full album, it is awesome!
I saw them on the ascendency tour and twice on shogun tour. Epic as hell.
Every show I've seen, they walk of the stage to One-Winged Angel, which makes my nerdy metalhead ass giggle inside.
One of the greatest metal albums!
I can’t express just how much I still love this song!!!! It’s the best Trivium song ever made and will NEVER be topped (and yes, I have heard all of ITCOTD). Maybe it’s nostalgia but this song is the most perfect metal song I’ve ever heard…
100% agree
FINALLY! this entire album is absolute fire.
Machine Head-The Blackening full album reaction is what you need. Actually ,Robb Flynn from MH helped Matt Heaffy learn screaming the right way.
3:33 talking about Matt's renewed vocals, I *HIGHLY* recommend listening to the new rerecording of Internal Cannon by August Burns Red. His new technique featured on that song is next level--you can tell it's him but he harmonizes with Jake (the vocalist) so well.
I love playing this song at the bar to fuck with people 😂
Travis Smith - Ember to Inferno, Ascendancy, The Crusade, Shogun
Nick Augusto - In Waves, Vengeance Falls
Matt Madiro - Silence in the Snow
Paul Wandtke - Silence in the Snow touring cycle (I think; I know I saw him with them in 2015)
Alex Bent - Sin and the Sentence, What the Dead Men Say
They've had their fair share of drummers, but I really hope Alex stays. He's pushed them to new levels of technicality that they just didn't really reach before!
Finally!!! This should be the next album reaction!
You have to react to the ENTIRE ALBUM!
I literally had a dream that Alex reacted to this song. Glad he finally did it c:
A masterpiece of an album. Not a bad song on it. Amazing to me to think they were all in their early 20’s when this album was released. Amazing vocals, musicianship and lyrics throughout. 🔥🖤🤘🏻🖤🔥🤘🏻
loved that u reacted to some more trivium finally! you should definitely check more trivium from their latest album!
The whole Shogun album is a metal masterpiece. Please check out the entire album Alex. You will absolutely appreciate it. It's amazing to see where they come from to where they are today.
*btw...Alex was not the drummer here. It was Travis Smith
Matt Heafy and Oli Sykes are probably my favorite screamers of all-time
Please react to CLUTCH (the best band you've never heard of ©). I suggest for your first go, either Electric Worry (their most well-known song), Burning Beard, 10001110101 or A Quick Death In Texas. Cheers!
Ty 4 stopping it. I've never said that b4 but in this case, it gave my neck and lungs a break for a sec
This was actually before Matt learned the new vocal technique. It was the Silence in the Snow era where he blew out his vocal chords and couldn't scream on that record.
Travis Smith was the drummer, he performed on the first 4 albums- this was his last with the band
React to the whole album.
I remembered requesting this song on all your early vids. thanks man, something to enjoy while I'm recovering from covid
Never listened to trivium before but i sure as hell will after this monster!! Thanks, Alex!
Hit up this entire album Shogun, as well as Ascendancy. If you like what you hear, The Crusade, In Waves, The Sin and the Sentence, and What the Dead Men Say. After that, their first album Ember to Inferno, Vengeance Falls, and Silence in the Snow. They're in different styles, so some of them may be hard to get into. That's natural.
🙌🙌🙌Standing ovation from all of us here in the CZcams community as well!👏👏👏
Alex has discovered the secret level of Trivium. We demand a full album reaction!!!
We? You mean they have fans? Plural? GTFO, they don't!
This song is the best Heavy Metal artpiece of 21st century. Period
Travis Smith was the drummer for Shogun, Ascendancy, The Crusade and Ember to Inferno 👍
Trivium has so many great songs. I'd love to see you react to "Departure", one of my all time favorites. Comes with a surprise after the first half 🤟
The first real Trivium epic. 😎
This album is full of those great breakdown sections, I'm not entirely sure if you should call it a breakdown but they are considerably more headbangy in those sections than in the rest of the song. My favorite is Down From The Sky.
the switchup on the intro... DUUUUUUUUUDe. ahahah yes. stoked to see these guys live later this year. get to enjoy Megadeth (never seen), Inflames(seen FINALLY SEEING AGAIN 84years later), Trivium (never seen), and uh...... shit one more.
Shattering the skies above
You know, I love both The Sin and The Sentence and What The Dead Men Say, but Shogun will forever hold a special place in my heart as the record that introduced me to this amazing band
Whole album listen worthy!
If I ever did my top 10 all time songs, this song would most likely be on that list.
Holy Shit!!!! Over 600k subs. Wow bro I was like 150k been with you ever since. I totally love your channel. It doesn't even seem like 3 over years. Love the direction your going... H town represent!!!!!!!!
Travis Smith is the drummer. He was their best drummer too. Triviums best album and it's not even close
Also, since you've said about what a journey that song was...I think it's time to react to some Dream Theater, they have a lot of epic songs but if I can choose only 1 then .PLEASE react to The Count of Tuscany!
Pull me under! Dream Theater 🎭
This is a true definition of a masterpiece IMO.
Objective fact
Travis Smith killed it on this song what a way to bow out!!!!!!!!
I also really liked it when lost in Vegas did a reaction to this. 🤘 very genuine
Dude how are you not at a million subs yet wtf I think your one of the best reactors
Thank you! ❤️👊🏼
You described it the best way it could be..... a fucking epic journey.
My second favorite Trivium album.
Ascendancy will always be my favorite
I discovered Trivium when I stumbled upon their music video for Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr back in 2005. Every album blows me away.
Ascendancy was my first experience with them and they became my favorite band right away. I would say that one is their Master of Puppets. This one is their And justice... Not one weak song in these 2 albuns. Metallica is one of their biggest influences.
Ironically though, The Crusade sounds like Justice in a literal sense. Consider this album Rust in Peace.
What an awesome Choice. Trivium is my fav band!
Love trivium! Meet them yrs ago. All great dudes. Awesome musicians. Thanks for the reaction Alex.🤘🤘🤘🤘
Now that you alredy listen the last track of the album, listen the whole album backwards.
Matt is basically a modern James Hetfield
This was the last album to have Travis Smith as the drummer. This whole album is definitely a good one! This whole album is played on 7 string guitars.
Like Callisto and insurrection are on 6 string E standard
This was long before Alex became their drummer. This is in fact their first drummer Travis Smith. This was released in 2008. And this was also quite a bit before Matt blew his voice out in 2014.
Also full Shogun album reaction!!!
This is my favorite album. My first intro to Trivium was when they toured with Slipknot in 2010. My father and I drove from Reno, NV (Slipknot is STILL banned from playing in Reno to my knowledge) to Sacramento, CA and at that time I never heard of Trivium. This was their latest album at the time and they opened up that show and I was an immediate fan. The other time I saw Trivium was in Salt Lake City in 2015 (Silence in the Snow was the recent album at that time)at a bar that held no more than 200ish people and it was amazing. Definitely need to react to the Shogun album and keep it going Alex.
Awww Dude! I have a pretty special connection with Trivium ( for my own part anyway 😂). I was about Twenty, Twenty one or something, and i was looking at Metal Albums to try. I picked up Ascendancy, just because i liked the cover art. No idea why, besides it just sort of spoke to me in some way. Nowadays, i feel like it was some awesome event that brought us together. Maybe one day we'll meet, and they'll go....."Oh hi! Errrr who are you?" And that would fulfill the prophesy foretold! 😂 Great react Fella! I can only imagine hoe EPIC the first gig must have been! Awwww! 🤘
Alex Bent was only 15 when this album came out in 2008. He joined the band in 2017.
One of the best and most underrated bands of all time.
