Classic Game Room reviews REMEMBER ME from Capcom and Dontnod Entertainment, a stylish, cinema-inspired action / puzzle game where you beat up bad guys with combos and remix peoples' memories! The year is 2084 but instead of fighting Robotrons and brain-people you're fighting in Future-France to save your memories and maybe the memories others.... I can't remember!!! Unique, cool and stylish, Remember Me lacks game play substance but remains a stylish effort from French developer, Dontnod. CGR reviews the PS3 version of Remember Me on PlayStation 3 but the game is also available for Xbox 360, PC and Turbografx-16* (*in select locations). - Zábava
So I bought this when it first came out, played a bit, found the combat frustrating and stopped. Last year was looking for something different, reinstalled, stuck with it...and ended up really enjoying it. To the point I played it through a second time to do some of the things differently than I had done the first time. Recommended.
I think Remember Me is a good game. I really enjoyed the music, game play, and the boss fights. The game combat is cool and takes time to get a feel of things. I didn't have a problem with the controls, it just takes time to get use to. A good sci-fi game.
The city environments remind me a lot of Blade Runner... which is a good thing.
I just picked this up today for £4 for my 360 because I had never heard of it. Put a couple of hours into it so far it's interesting.
I love this guys reviews. No matter the game, he'll always have something positive to say about it. That's respect for the creators right there.
Thanks for the review. I know I'm a dexade too late but I'm checking out the reviews and seeing what gsmes I missed to scoop up
Playing it right now. Pretty cool so far. I don't think it's qs good as it could have been, but better than I thought it would be.
I have a question. When I see those buttons showing up on the bottom of the screen in a row is it telling you what to press and if you mess up you don't get the combo?
I honestly am horrid at remembering any combinations of buttons and definitely should be playing games on systems where you only use 2 or 3 buttons and a control pad or whatever but just wondered if you can answer my question above cuz I had thought about renting this game more than a few times at our local vid store.
I love mark, "I love combos. . ." The Peperoni pizza ones! ". . .the pepperoni pizza kind!"
i really like mark's reviews! "serious points for being different", "flawed", "memorable".
other reviews may comment the same way, but almost everyone is focusing on the number the game is rated on.
exactly what it says in the intro, The cure for the corporate review :) refreshing!
Never have I viewed a Classic Game Room video review so soon after it being uploaded! :D
It's funny how no one Remembers this game
Just "purchased" it via playstation plus. can't wait to give it a shot.
This game is awesome because it is different and has great visuals, not in technical sense but in an artful sense, this game deserves an award for art direction.
best title
awesome action
amazing characters
wonderful gameplay
Mark is the only reviewer I know who will do a review of a game a month later of everyone else cause when IGN, gamespot, machinima and Polygon rush their reviews a couple of days before the game's release, Mark is waiting and he is reviewing games that came out 20-30 years ago. Not only that, but he was making videos about PS2 controllers at the same time that all major gaming media was going crazy with E3.
PS: When are you going to burn people with monsters and cut them in half?
I bought a bag of combos thanks to Mark.
his power of suggestion over me is...overwhelming.
I love this guys reviews
You totally made me buy pepperoni combos today...
Awesome review mark!!! Keep it up!
the problem with this game is that it holds your hand and never lets go. Go HERE. JUMP HERE. PRESS THIS,. DO THIS ATTACK. NO! THIS ONE! din't we tell you? you have to use this combo now. Because it's new. The game feels like a job. In an amazing sci-fi movie.
I love CGR! The best gaming channel in YT!! Mark you are awesome! Keep up the good work!
What Mark says about the game's appearance and presence makes a lot of sense. I never really looked into this game a lot, but it felt and looked like more of an Indie game, rather than a big-budget game published by Capcop. It looks stylish and fun, reminds me of PN-03 and Mirror's Edge.
lol @ the robotic floor scrubber there at the end.
It's first review of this game that really makes me want to play it.
I like this kind of games, not very known.
Pretty much agree with what Mark said in the review! Game has great art & music but decent enough gameplay that gets you to the end! Finished it last week and it is worth checking out but not at full price.
You have a voice that should be a character in a movie!!!
Lol when I first saw this and still do I thought the girl was hot :)
I'm gonna remember this review and remember remember me :D
Did you remember?
I like this game. It's easily one of my personal favorite XBox 360 games. But it was a real bitch finding it. Especially the 360 version.
I really loved it. I managed to snag a preorder of the PC version for $37.50, but seriously, it's a great game. If you want a flawed, but very different game, worth your time for its story and unique gameplay, buy this game. Preferably new, to support DONTNOD.
You convinced me, Mark. I'm gonna try it! :D
Great review.
This game is awesome, and the visuals are mighty impressive.
Only problem I found....the combos are made for 4 buttons and my PC got 2...
True. It's worth it. They should try to get the games earlier so they can put the review sooner but still not sell out and always be a true review and not mainstream, commercial or corporate. Always my fav and recommend CGR for that reason.
Remember Me is a lot of fun. I found the combat to be surprisingly addictive, especially when you unlock enough pressens to utilize all of the combos. Overall the game is fun, unique, and very nice sci-fi action-adventure story. The only negative for me is the game's length, only because I want more of the world the developers made. Otherwise the length is good because the story doesn't overstay its welcome and you can always replay levels for more pick-up/extras. A highly replayable gem!
hey inecom lol, I like your monotone voice on all of your reviews. it is epic. you are very thorough, but don't spoil the game's story
50% of the review was about food. It's CGR, it's not "journalistic" per say, but it is fun and most of all, honest.
A truly underrated game. Here's hoping for a part 2
Remember me. Please.
You can get paid to wear jeans? I'll remember that.
I really loved this game. Worth every penny I spent on it, and I'm REALLY looking forward to a sequel!
I'd love to see a review of the Last Ninja games; I myself have very fond memories of the C64 version.
I tooooo love Combos, Crazy!
Now I want Combos.
I second that motion!
I would probably love this game.
I hear you, brother.
I like the game..glad I bought it...hopefully it comes out with some dlc
Played it once and I'll never go back to it unfortunately. I guess I won't
*puts on glasses* remember you.
It's on ps+ this month so will give it a play.
Ekhm, from what i can remember you cant do your own combos. You just get 4 combos and you can only change presets which give different effects like stronger hit, healing, reduced cooldown.
well it hasnt been in the case for ages..... oh its still in my vectrex, after all there is a vectrex port right?
Awesome game!!! Il remember it for sure! :)
This game looks like Bayonetta, but with the clean look of Mirror's Edge. I would love it except that I burned out on combos back when Killer Instinct was out.
Every time I watch a CGR video, I HAVE to hum the theme. I HAVE to.
You should do a review of "Mount Your Friends" it's a xbox live indie game and its hilarious!
Dammit. Now I want pepperoni pizza flavored combos.
Combat system reminds me of Sudeki :)
It got the Cyberpunk vibes over it, but it's a rather repedetive game. Sad, as I do enjoy the plot. The best parts has to be the memory wipes.
The delivery food in sapce?
if it's called "remember me," why didnt it have the eurobeat song "remember me" from initial d in it? :3
Sales of Combo snacks will suddenly and unexplainedly increase.
Unexplainedly is not a word, BTW.
Hope he reviews the ouya
you were right...HD ftw!
I had this preordered, but ended up switching over to The Last of Us. As others have mentioned, RM looks interesting...but just not at $60 atm.
its gonna be classic in the future
I was eating pepperoni pizza-flavoured Combos while watching this. Eerie.
It looks a lot like ghost in the shell but with Kate Beckinsale. Can't be bad :)
Damn you now i have to get a Pizza ! But looks like a fun game might get it when the price drops a little never feel like playing full price for these kind of games. I love them but after a playthrough or 2 i'm done with them for a really long time...
Good game, can't say its worth full price so wait a little or rent it (Very linear and short). I REALLY wish it was open world, theres so much cool stuff to see, then you realise its only part of the background D:
The art design was pretty good.
"I like combos, especially, you know where this is going . . .peperoni pizza!"
It makes her more aerodynamic of course.
LOL at the Combos snack comment.
those Jalapeno combos are way better then the pizza ones Mark...
Don't forget this is a cure to the corporate review, it takes time to play through a game.
Combos should pay you money. I'm hungry for them now...
name song fo the intro please
I liked Enslaved except for the combat but the story was cool; I wish there was a sequel.
I think Remember Me is one of those games that'll become a bit of a cult, underground classic, like Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.
Free on PS+ starting tomorrow! (2/18/14)
REMEMBER ME! *breaths fire*
Great game. Even though it wont get "IN YOUR FACE" promotion like Last of Us and BioShock. Its still a game that should be played. It will be a underground cult classic. Reminded me of - PHANTOM DUST- Xbox
Really I never knew that when was that established?
When I first saw the video title i thought u were gonna be done with CZcams and that made me worried.
Jesus Christ, realistic blood effects are good enough for it to be the 'best game ever'? Wow.
I like the concept/story of the game and the platforming parts, but the combat system just confuses the living crap out of me. hard to recommend unless you have a lot of skill with fighting games and would find this second nature
You know the current gen has something weird going on when a game is given points for trying to be different...(it's a good thing it tries to be, it's a bad thing that not more games do it)
Its will be HD... CZcams is thinking with it, sometimes it takes 30 minutes :D
Never thought Vi from LOL would ever be in a game like this...
isint the game like: stealth, stealth, stealth, and the the fat guy buddy starting to run around and attracting all the zombies? i mean bad friendly AI.
IGN has reviewed it, Gamespot have reviewed it. Now it's time for Mark to review it (all other reviews are now irrelevant)
I played this game, but I don't remember a damn thing about it.
This game looks better than I was led to believe.
Here's the main difference. The PS3 has a 256mb RAM and the Xbox has 512mb then there's my PC which was dirt cheap and it still has 4GB of RAM
The last of Us , Shenmue, Ocarina Of Time, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 64, The Orange Bo, Grand Theft Auto IV are very very close with rating of over 95%
I expected a lot of Ghost In The Shell references from this review and i didn't get them :(
Hey Mark,
you know, the last of us has a Flamethrower in it.
The HD in "Classic Game Room HD" stands for "Heavy Duty", not "High Definition".
Please review Surgeon Simulator 2013.
