It appears for a split second once the loading has finalized, I have it too.
Yeah, I learned whatever gamemode you will be in once you load into the world it will show something like that. “Survive,” for survival, “create” for creative, and I imagine something like “spectate” and “adventure/explore” for the other two

The obsidian one makes sense. "Mining" a block in Minecraft is not the same as breaking it. You can break about every block (except for bedrock and the special ones) with any item that doesn't have durability, but if it doesn't drop you didn't mine it. Mining a block means you obtain it afterwards, normally because it dropped directly.
