When that reunion happens, I think that will be the moment that their long-subdued love that they have for each other (that everyone else but they themselves have seen to be plainly obvious) will finally blossom

She hasn't declared that she will or won't be available to reprise her Carol role for its second season (assuming that it does well enough in its inaugural season to be renewed) and beyond, but it's believed that she will be.

They've also evolved from parasitic outsiders (Daryl) and submissive type-b's (Carol) to integral parts of their community and leaders, thereof -- the apocalypse brought that out of them I loved witnessing that evolution throughout the entire arc of this show -- especially how each character influenced the other's evolution at different points over the course of that arc All of the long-surviving characters on this show have evolved to some extent, but these two have done so the most, in my opinion
Even though their relationship wasn't a romantic one, it was beautiful. A captivating and beautiful relationship between two people who endured it all and were each other's rock throughout the entire show. Even in the hard times they didn't fully give up on each other and watching their bond develop through the show was just amazing. The biggest TWD universe mistery ever existed. Season 11 ended and I still don't know if they are the best platonic duo I've ever seen or they suppose to be a romantic couple from the begining. This or that, I love both variants. To season 5 I shipped them so badly, but from season 6 I loved them as platonic. Season 11 finale opened the romantic version once again and when I see this video and many other Caryl videos, I'm starting to believe the romantic version once again because there's sooo many scenes with fully romantic context with them. And that I completely forgot about them! That holding hands, toutching, excitement to see each other again, THE EYES! When Daryl is heartbroken when Carol left Alexandria and when he visits her after he was captured in sanctuary, and also after that when he's leaving her, turning aroud and hugs her one more time, omg.. soo many scenes that indicates the Caryl is a canon, but they are shy and scared to show their feelings. They do not fear anything but themselfs.
To me, it's both. Sometimes romance and friendship are deeply intertwined, especially for people who are as guarded and traumatized as these two. Whether or not anything more ever happens, they truly love each other. 🧡

I never noticed at 1:05 when Carol went to kiss Darryl how he flinched because he thought she was going to hit him and showed shock that she was just going to kiss him. How did I miss that or maybe I forgot about it but that was probably the first time anyone ever showed Darryl gentleness and kindness. I love their love story even though it didn't lead to a romantic relationship, In my mind, I imagine that they are true soulmates and just never were brave enough to act upon it because of how much it would affect one if something happened were to happen to the other..
It's a precious moment, especially knowing that Daryl was hurt because he spent the day looking for Sofia. And she gives him that tender kiss at that moment after thanking him for coming out to find her. Angela Kang confirmed that they are soulmates, and both actors said that their story is not finished. There are many rumors lately, and one of them is that Daryl's series will have more seasons and that Carol will appear in the last episode of the first and will star in the second with Daryl. I hope it's true, we need to see more of them.

Carol and Daryl's bond of platonic true love was always beautiful. Unfortunately, for me, Sam Smith's singing is akin to nails on a chalkboard (ugh). Turning the sound down helped me get through this-- as of course watching Carol and Daryl demonstrate their indelible chemistry over and over again.
