  • Welcome to our adventure on Dome Plateau, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Utah’s red rock country. On April 9th, 2023, we embarked on our journey as part of the Easter Jeep Safari trail run. It's a very underrated trail and a must see when you're in Moab!
Our trusty companions for the day were Scott and Jen who joined us in their red Jeep, aptly named Roadrunner. But here’s the twist: the women took the wheel! 🚙💨
Our trail led us to a prehistoric wonder: dinosaur tracks etched into the sandstone, a silent testament to the giants that once roamed this land. We marveled at the intricate imprints, imagining the ancient creatures that left their mark here eons ago.
We set our sights on the breathtaking Colorado River Overlook, where the mighty river carved its way through the ancient sandstone cliffs. The view from the edge was nothing short of awe-inspiring-a panorama of red towers and snow covered mountains stretching as far as the eye could see.
Next up, we explored the mystical Cave Springs, where water seeped down from hidden crevices. The imagination ran wild thinking of those first Native Americans who discovered the caves and the ranchers that came later searching for water for their cattle.
And then, we stumbled upon an abandoned mining camp, frozen in time. An old rusty engine, weathered shacks made of railroad ties, and remnants of a uranium boom era mine whispered stories of hardworking miners seeking their fortunes in these unforgiving lands.
The trail itself-a level 4 difficulty on the scale-offered just the right mix of challenge and excitement. It was light enough for beginners yet kept our adrenaline pumping as we maneuvered through rocky terrain and sandy washes.
So join us as we relive our unforgettable day on Dome Plateau. Buckle up, hit that play button, and let’s dive into the red rock wonderland that is Moab, Utah!

Really nice video! You gave a good representation of what to expect. We live 2 hours away and will experience The Dome in the fall. Too hot for our Lucy dog now. Thanks for your efforts! Two female Black Bear veterans (and husbands) coming over soon!

Engine looks like a flathead 6, maybe Chrysler?

Hi. I’m new to this. I have a capable vehicle, Bronco Raptor with 37s. We will be in Moab beginning of April and Dome Plateau is definitely on the list. What size are your tires and what do you air down to? Nice video. Hope to get some epic video of my own soon, Thank you!

Thanks! We are on 37s, and we usually air down to 12-14 psi. The Jeep behind us did it on 33s. You'll have no problem at all on this trail. Hope you have fun!

I'm heading out there in late April and this is on my list too. Watching for pre-trip research. I have a fully independent suspension Pathfinder on 33's and this is probably the least difficult trail that I will be doing while there. Looks like it'll be a breeze for you.

Bronco Off-Roadeo uses this trail for their runs. You see one of their Bronco's near the beginning of the trail in this video. Those Bronco's are all either SAS with 35's, or Badlands with 33's. Your Raptor should breeze through the trail with ease.
