- The Elgato FaceCam Mk 2 is here and unlike its predecessor, this new iteration has left me impressed! So much so that I now only use the Mk2 for streams and have since stopped using my Canon M50.

Thank you for taking time , subed .
Thanks for your support! Glad you enjoyed the video
Thank you for making this video. It's been super helpful to understand how to use this facecam, but also in figuring out if this is the right camera for me. After buying the Logitech Brio and hating it, I've bought this one and it's 100% better! Thx mate! 👍🏻
Anytime! Glad it was helpful 😌
Thanks a bunch! I've been all over trying to figure out how to get this camera just the way I want it
Anytime!!!
Solid video. You deserve both the thumbs up and a subscription based on this video alone. Probably going to buy this webcam to replace my SONY A5100 which is driving me crazy
ty so much for the settings. 🔥😀 hi from tiktok 👋
Anytime! Glad it was helpful!
STANDARD with lut!
Central America stand up !! Nice video Bro , Im trying to by a cam and I’ll probably go with this one ! ❤️🙏
Thanks bro! And hell yes get it, it's great
Definitely SDR, LUT on. Btw, the video on creating LUT's for OBS by Adam (EposVox) is indeed a really good video! And so is this video on the Elgato Camera Hub and the color correction in OBS. I hope it does well (viewer-wise). The Elgato Facecam Mk2 has crossed the line where a DSLR is no longer needed to get amazing looking talking head shots. Thanks for the video and keep creating great content!
I bought the camera becuz of this excellent video. Also I learned alot. I already had the Facecam original but didn't really know how to dial it in. The MK.2 tho has the zoom preset buttons and some more tweak settings & features that don't show up with the original facecam in camera hub. Not sure If I will send back the original since it's still returnable or find another use for it cuz even THAT isn't a bad camera. Blows away tmy Logi BRIO! Thanks for a great review and tutorial! Your cam looks great btw!
Thank youuu!! Glad I was able to be of some help! I've kept my other we cams in case I wanna do multi angle shots etc. Might be worth it to you as well if not I'd return
very helpful! I bought the camera
Glad I could help!
Was on the fence but your results with the lut definitely made me want to grab one. Was annoyed by the set up for using my SLR for streaming. Simple is better.
Is this One better than the facecam pro to record/stream at 1080? I want to stream at 1080. Thanks!
Man it has such a clean image.
I'm gonna have to agree. For $150, it's hard to beat!
Awesome video! If you had to pick between the Obsbot Meet 4K and the Elgato FaceCam Mk2, both being the same price, which one would you recommend?
Thank you! Unfortunately the only obsbot camera I've used is the tail air so I couldn't make a fair comparison between the facecam mk2 and the meet 4k.
How did you get the Elgato facecam MK2 to show up in OBS? l recently purchased an elgato facecam MK2 and it work perfectly but when I go select the elgato facecam MK2 in OBS nothing shows up but when I select Elgato Virtual Camera that works perfectly. I have the cable plugged into a uso 3.0 and I have the camera hub updated. Am I missing something in OBS or is this an elgato issue?
great video, i have the first face cam, do you think its worth the upgrade?
Absolutely! I had the first one as well but returned it cause it was not as great as everyone had said, this one however is incredibly solid
I had the facecam pro and though I did my best with Lightning it still didn't feel all that great. My macbook camera without doing any adjustment just shows me better which is so weird.
And since I am on Mac, OBS doesn't have all the settings Windows OBS have which is a let down.
I hope these cameras will be better!
Thank You My Brother for a great video none the less!! Keep on Radiating Brightly All Ways In All Ways! 💖💎🙌∞
I been looking for a camera that's not fucking fuzzy i like this
Also, when you created your LUT in Davinci Resolve, what did you use to record the lossless webcam footage? I tried using OBS but the file won't import into Davinci Resolve, it is in AVI format.
Not sure if this will help but I use the auto configuration tool in obs to set my recording settings. It's set my OC to record at high quality medium file size. If you need more specific details I can share with you tomorrow
@@StreamGearTalk Oh I see. So you didn't record a lossless file correct?
I am just curios... will the Elegato Camera Hub work with the Canon Powershot V10?
If you connect that camera to your pc via the camlink then yes, so long as the camera is listed as compatible on their website. Also keep in mind that not all features that are available for the facecam are available for a dslr/mirrorless camera connected via the camlink.
@@StreamGearTalk thanks very much for the response. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing.
How does applying the LUT in OBS affect the preview in Elgato Camera Hub?
It will not show up on camera hub. Since the LUT is being applied in obs it only shows in obs.
@@StreamGearTalk that makes sense but in your video at 16:51 your LUT affects the preview in Camera Hub. Or did you just set it up visually this way using some sort of overlay?
i have just down loaded camera hub, I do not have all the options you have, why is that ?
Which options?
dman can i get your old one
Does quality change if you don't have a Nvidia gpu?
I think having an nvidia gpu only affects the use of the AI backgrounds. I don't have a solid answer but I dont see how not having nvidia gpu would affect quality since the camera itself is doing the work, not the gpu
Got the MK.2 today. TBH its noisy as f****, even illuminated with a Keylight Air and an Amaran 60D with Softbox.
Is your iso turned up a bit or on the lower end? Lowering iso ,for me, works wo ders for reducing noise. Also dbl check the noise reduction setting. I feel like that can cause more problems than it solves sometimes
@@StreamGearTalk it kinda doesn’t matter. Looks almost the same on 100 and 150 iso. Also the noise reduction was on medium and on off. 😅 pretty disappointing tbh, but I will try one more time tomorrow to give it a chance.
Last thing I just realized I never mentioned in the video, firmware updates for the camera and annuodate for camerahub. Should have nothing to do with noise but you never know!
@@StreamGearTalk I updated first Camera Hub and then the firmware. Not 100% sure but I think it was a bit better with the old firmware it came with.
Mine is extremely granny, looks okay as long as they don't zoom in but definitely lots of noise and grain I'm in the overall picture looks okay but it's definitely a little on the granny side
Better than the pro?
Unfortunately I never used the pro. The pro having 4k definitely puts ir above the fc mk2 but for streaming 4k is overkill. If I was just starting out I'd buy the mk2 over the pro and use the difference in proce for lights or some other piece of gear. Also, the focus for the mk2 is fixed with roughly a 4ft range. The pro has auto focus but it is prone to focus hunting and that can look odd.
@@StreamGearTalk thanks for the response! Yeah i have streamed for a while so not really starting off, however like you said 4K is a bit overkill for stream especially on Twitch that only does 1080p. My budget is fine for the Pro but I’m torn to which one to get
I had the original FaceCam from Elgato and no matter what settings I used it looked like trash. Good luck with the V2, but from what I am seeing from this video, your image still doesn't look good at all.
Of course the image doesn't look good! There's not a single video on CZcams that looks good. Why are you even here if you look for good image quality? Go watch some BluRays. 🤣
Did you actually ditch/sell your $700 camera, or is this just for clicks?
Because I find the quality of the facecam mk 2 good enough for streams, I no longer use (ditched) my canon m50 for streaming. I do of course use my m50 for CZcams videos. Good quality video (good enough for streaming), easy set up (don't have to dial in focus and hook in cables every time use unlike m50), just makes for an easier to use camera. Does that make sense?
Doesn't support linux or chromebooks from everything i read on it, so that's a no for me.
So you’re saying from this point forward you won’t be using your $700 camera and all of your videos will be produced on this awful camera? 😂😂😂😂.
I'm saying, I won't be using my $700 mirrorless cameras for streaming anymore. Of course I'll use my M50 for videos. But not streaming.
If you already have your 700$ camera it makes no sense at all to ditch it for this, even if just for streaming. Most streamers these days use way more expensive professional cameras on stream. I wouldn't watch a stream with a lousy Webcam
@@TheNitpicker there is no way he is ditching his $700 camera for that webcam. Maybe for Zoom calls…but nothing else.
I promise, I haven't used my M50 for streaming since I got this. Is the m50 better than the mk2 in regard to quality? Of course, that's obvious. But with the mk2 I don't have to deal with setting it up, adjusting the focus, dummy battery, etc. The mk2 is just plugged in, works with my streamdeck plus and it's easier to deal with. Now for videos, yes I'm clearly gonna use my m50.
@@StreamGearTalk I’ll take your word for it 😊. Have a great day!
