How to Create Digital Passport Photo Using your Phone
Do you know that most online application will require your passport and document to be not more than 200kb in size but in the reality, the file should really be way lesser than that. I recently completed my NNPC recruitment application using my phone and also wrote the exam slated for Saturday, 1st June 2019. Guess what!
The passport size for which they instructed to not be more than 200kb, I tried an epassport of 150kb, after meeting every other specification, it was not accepted. But then, I tried a file size of below 80kb and it worked perfectly well. Now the question is, how did I manage to reduce the file size using my phone. See, let me tell you, these cyber café guys will not tell you this so you keep coming back for each application you want to make. Imagine spending at least N500 on each application you do in a cyber café when you have enough data on your phone and the knowledge of how to
create electronic passport on your phone anytime and anywhere just at your
fingertips.
In this video, I will be taking you on a journey on how to create soft copy files
(passport) needed for your online application using your android smartphone with a step by step procedure. The crux of this video is to show you how to prepare your electronic or digital passports according to specification using your phone. If the above is achieved, the rest is history.
TOOLS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
There are a lot of mobile apps on google playstore we can very well take advantage of today and getting present job done will require just that.
1. Your phone camera

PHONE CAMERA:- A lot of android phones these days come with good cameras. That camera is not only for selfies and wefies, you can also snap a good photo with
it, with which you make your passport. Just look for a good position with bright light (during daytime)
CREATING YOUR ELECTRONIC PASSPORT
Creating your own e-passport to upload for your online applications is as simple as ABC. You don’t need to go to the studio to get it done. Right in the comfort of your
home, you can get it done on your android smartphone.
First on the list of things you need to do is get your red or white cloth for the
background ready. A minimum of two persons can help you get the job done in no
time.one person to help hold the cloth behind you and the other to do the snapping.
Make sure to snap at a fairly close range and in a bright position (preferably daytime).
Next is to locate either your Passport Photo Editor or Photo for Passport app. Both
are equally up to the task but I will only use the Photo for Passport app as case study.
Many online application platforms would require that the file size of your passport
photo does not exceed 100KB or 200KB. The implication of your file size exceeding
the maximum required file size for that application is that the file(passport photo)
will not be uploaded.
FURTHER INFORMATION TO EASE YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS
Do your applications at night; this is because the site will be free from too
much traffic generated during the day. When the traffic (number of persons
using the site) is too much, it tends to slow the site and in many cases, shut it
down. At night, the site will be free and as such, will respond better. Not a lot of persons use their phone for online applications, many go to
the cafe. So it is an advantage to you using your phone for the application
process.
Use a good browser like "Chrome" and set it on "Desktop site". When you enter
chrome on your phone, at the top-right corner, you will see a "three dot icon".
Tap on it to reveal a drop down list.
