The Tuzla class, named after a district in Istanbul with the same name, was designed by Dearsan Shipyards to meet the operational requirements of the Turkish Navy. Along with Dearsan, 204 domestic supplier firms are involved with the NTPB project as well as several foreign ones such as MTU or Oto Melara" BTW, MTU provided 2x 250kw each diesel generators and engines. And Oto Melara provided 40 mm Twin compact gun. It is very normal that ship builders (and aircraft manufacturers) source their components from various suppliers. In this case Dearsan did tha same and sourced diesel engines and 40 mm gun from external sources. But the main design belongs to Dearsan and most of the other components sourced by Turkish domestic firms.
