Chances of it updating to have crossplay post luanch. Easy to imagine they didnt understand what they had and wasnt expecting this to go viral like it has.
That said, if we stay the course and buy, perhaps they add crossplay in the future? Wouldnt be the first game to have cross added after launch.

Agreed, BF2005 DLC all over again, can’t see enough people buying it, then being split across multiple platforms, multiple modes, multiple location / servers. Really want to buy it but already got both on Xbox already so not very appealing if multi player ends up dead in a few weeks
Cross play is a must. Proximity chat would skyrocket this game's popularity to incredible heights. I doubt they will include either of these features and that's just so damn disappointing.
Even if it was cross play I rather have it turn off most fps games are a bunch off tryhards I'll definitely be buying this game
People seem to think that no cross play = dead in a week. All it means is we won’t have to deal with cheaters from PC.

i see no reason why offline instant action wouldnt be included, it was a feature in the og game and this is just a port, not a remake or a rebuild so it should have it. Thing is AI heroes mode for offline was not part of the og game (at least in the ps2 and xbox) so that i wouldnt be soo shure.
@@ShadrackMedusonI play on Xbox and can tell you AI heroes are defintely a thing on xbox. Got merc'd by AI Jango on Kamino two days ago. It's just that if you turn down being the hero apparently no AI on your team will take the offer.

I will recalled on the psp and Xbox version in instead action that the heroes can be played by the ai but the ps2 and pc versions where absent hopefully they will put this in this version
Yes, I hope so as well. Also, in the PSP and Xbox versions, it was just the enemy ai that could play as heroes, not your team's ai unfortunately.

@@bboy7531Especially for offline splitscreen. Imagine turning down the hero to give it to a friend only for the AI to take it. Plus the AI is how do I say it... of inconsistent quality. I'm actually curious how it will be because for instant action sometimes the AI could really ruin the game. Will enemy AI actually be competent enough to land shuttles in your hangar during space battles and will friendly ones for the love of the force stop crashing shuttles you flew into the enemy hangar?
Everyone keeps talking about how this is gonna die out. Guys. This game is still populated since servers never shut down on pc. I can get on rn and play bf2 classic online. It’s not dying. As for crossplay, they should just have cross play servers. Hopefully they implement a party system and upgrade the UI cuz private matches are a pain to set up
Everyone's on about crossplay, and while I'd love to see it, I don't actually think that's the biggest issue. What we really need is community servers. THAT'S what will keep people engaged, if we can customize our experiences and stay in the same lobbies with each other. Crossplay is just going to open up a whole new can of worms with controller vs mouse+keyboard players, aim assist, and all that. If anything, Xbox and PlayStation could easily crossplay with one another.

That's fine, it incentives players to fill up ships that have multiple slots and the transports instead of everyone just doing their own thing. And you can also have players stay behind to defend the ship too

The Xbox Version already did this with including the DLC for Both Games and the increased Anti-aliasing.
The only thing I'm seeing out of this upcoming release as "New Content" is just the Working Multiplayer Support.
i think they'll put out physical versions of the games they did with the other star wars re-released games :)

@@bross7801 yeah later down the road considering the big success with these games to many fans including me of course ASPYR has distributed numerous amounts of physical copies of their Star Wars remasters in the past so it’s a guarantee for this bundle.

I'm kinda worried, the switch version of Podracer by them is buggy with invisible hitboxes on some tracks
One issue for me is the pricing. Because it's more expensive to buy this than the two older games on Steam. Even with the pre-order discount.
Also, 50GB is insane for a 2004/5 game, regardless of what they've done with it.
yeah even with hd textures it really shouldnt come over 20gb. and the price is way too high considering most people just want bf2 with populated servers
@@Alistair_7609 Yeah. It feels like this collection was mostly with consoles in mind, which is fine. But definitely isn't as strong a sales pitch for PC.
Would have been cool if they did something like what we see for the Tomb Raider remasters.

I think it’s kind of silly to buy it on pc. Bf2 is still active on pc and personally I have texture mods. It’s more so something for console players. I’m excited to play it with my Xbox friends. I’m ok w the price cuz it’s an upscale of both bf1 and 2 and also cuz they are GOATS.

I want to create a Jedi/sith with being able to use the abilities within the game and lightsaber color and style. Use the templates from the Jedi on Knightfall.
It should be crossplay, the only good thing about them using the date graphics is that even the switch can play at 60 fps whereas if it was what i preferred basically star wars first assault levels of graphics then switch would be hindered.
i hope this remaster does well so it’ll be there sign for Battlefront lll or at least re-join battlefront ll

It blows my mind that this is 50gb, how could you even make it that big on purpose?? Lazy file size optimization is incredibly annoying and a real crux for those of us with slow internet. As someone who’s modded these games endlessly for more than a decade I have never even managed to get close to that size (even with remaster and texture upscaling mods). And if the textures are actually upscaled in this version you really can’t see a difference in the trailers. I wish they would put a bit more effort into these and actually add new character models, effects, and environmental meshes to truly update the games in the way modders have done for years.

They do ports of games, not new content. Once a game is out, that's it as it's the full game. They've done a bunch of star wars ports and they're typically decent

Tbh I got more then one copy of those games and they don’t do enough to make it worth the price just not enough servers are still up on steam for BF2 and on PC you got mods already. There needs to be cross play or something more to justify that high of a price for a old game

I think that crossplay is essential for this game, it will keep the game alive for a longer time... Considering that Battlefront is a 20-year-old game, I think the player base will have a considerable drop after the first month. I want to play this game on Switch very much, but, I would feel more secure buying this game if it is cross-platform. I still have hope haha

What's crazy about Xbox is, this Collection also has some sort of System Link, allowing up to max 64 People in Local Network in the new Version. So it's kinda possible to Play up to 64 People who each of Th have their own Xbox One or Series, hooked up on a Router plus several LAN Switches and do a Oversized LAN Party.
For those who don't know what System Link is: it is a Multiplayer Mode on Xbox that allows to connect several Xbox Consoles via LAN Cable (and Switch if it's more than 2 Consoles) and Play in a Local Network. It's basically Offline Multiplayer for those who hate Splitscreen, but have several Consoles. System Link is just an Exclusive Name to Xbox and Xbox 360. Since Xbox One it's just Called Local Network Multiplayer or LAN, and some of remasters or Remakes beside SWBF Collection right now also carried over this System Link feature, like Halo MCC. aparrently, this Local Multiplayer seems to be Xbox (and maybe PC too) exclusive, since on Nintendo Switch I already have seen that Local MP is listed with Max 2 Players, probably Splitscreen Only on the Switch console. As for Playstation, I don't know if the Original version on PS2 had something similar to LAN or Systemlink Multiplayer, and I know even less if the Collection carries that over for PS if it had this on PS2.
Its a game people have wanted for a long time. Even with no crossplay, it's going to be fine.
Wait, classic games are already on sale on Steam. Why did I buy them then, everything is the same, only without the DLC/ It doesn’t cost more than $20 - it’s just a patch. It was announced at the Nintendo Direct yesterday with a release date 3 weeks later. One would hope it would run crystal clean with that being the case and it being a Ps2 game. Also seems like it’s been cooking for a while if they’re so confident releasing so soon. Biggest concern is the servers being able to handle

I wonder if the Steam Deck verification means if it is the windows version working on the Deck or if it's a linux version that will be running natively on the Deck. Could mean the difference in servers and crossplay between Deck and PC. I'm sad about the news regarding no crossplay between consoles and PC, had hoped to buy the PC and Switch versions (for the OLED screen) and be able to play with friends regardless, now I'll have to buy PS5 and PC to cover my bases on where most of my friends will play.

Just wanted to comment to say if a LimitedRun edition does get announced do not expect it to be released for YEARS. I preordered the Force Unleashed collectors edition for the Switch TWO YEARS AGO and only just received it. It is a complete gamble as things can change in production and there is zero communication from LimitedRun during production and you have to pay upfront. Paying upfront YEARS before release is mad if you are not receiving anytime soon and I won’t be doing it again. I suggest that anyone do the same and instead by the THQ Nordic versions of the game which will come out sooner
yeah it sucks for sure, the jedi survivor edition launched on time but it seems like the smaller/older games take ages. I really hope there's THQ release so it isnt limited!

They should really add cross play to this collection, it would massively help keep the game online for many years later, and it would make PC and Xbox players have a better incentive to buy and play this collection over playing the original versions of these games (this goes double true for PC players as this collection is basically that same PC version just with the og Xbox DLC and 2 player Splitscreen added).
I hope they add even more DLC

Don’t think so. You do get rewarded for kills tho by getting the chance at a hero
You get kill streak rewards, and if you go on the streak 64 times, you get the reward permanently

Imo this game probably won't have cross play bc the PC has had access to the mod tools forever and could be the main reason for not including it. It would make cheating way too easy and common and ruin the experience for everyone. Again that's just my theory

I mean cheats aside the biggest thing is that there is no aim assist. Snipers 1 tap in these games so ya it won’t be fun. I’d be cool with cross play servers tho
