@@m.barker1017 It's actually a fantastic sequence. The fear, for people who are susceptible to it, is built up very cleverly. The vent is seen as a safe haven at first from the monster chasing you, and it's not until you hear the mad scrambling sounds in the vent do you realize that you're still being chased. The scrambling noise coming from every direction, confusing you as to where the monster is, if it's even there. And then you turn around, and see the weird unnatural movements of the monster in the dark. Making it so much more terrifying knowing there IS something chasing you and it's not just a noise. And it brings up the question, is it multiple creatures? Is it the same creature but with the ability to shape shift? Fills your mind with questions. Then as you run you come to a bunch of dead ends and corridors, forcing you to react quickly and think on your feet, which is hard to do when under pressure. Again, if you're susceptible to horror this really enhances the experience. The only thing that really lets the sequence down is the music. The intense music really does nothing to help the chase. If you don't find it scary, it's because you're just hard to scare. And that's fine. Not everyone finds games or movies scary. But from a psychological and game design view point, this sequence is a terrifying masterpiece.

This just goes to show how subjective horror is. I use to have a roommate who reacted just like this to horror games and movies. Our friends and I tried to find shit, but he never cracked. I on the other hand cannot play horror games whatsoever. Horror movies I can do no problem, but there's something about games that just put me in full on panic mode. If there's anyone with me while I'm playing I'll involuntarily toss the controller to them at the peak of the scare/chase.

This just goes to show how subjective horror is. I use to have a roommate who reacted just like this to horror games and movies. Our friends and I tried to find shit, but he never cracked. I on the other hand cannot play horror games whatsoever. Horror movies I can do no problem, but there's something about games that just put me in full on panic mode. If there's anyone with me while I'm playing I'll involuntarily toss the controller to them at the peak of the scare/chase.
I can't do either. I can stand this because it isn't as scary as fnaf, which game me nightmares for a whole year. But I can't play any horror games. I just watch. I can't watch any scary movies either.
