    It worked perfectly. When re-assebling the silver mount ring - remember to correctly align the aperture lever. For me, the new motor from aliexpress was really slow and noisy but I was able to replace only the plastic shaft in the old motor taking that part from the new motor and it works perfectly. Thank you so much!

    Thanks for this! I managed to fix mine just after 1 minute of your video. After removing manual focus ring there is motor visible. It was enough for me to force it to move a little with the tweezer. I did not have to disassemble the rest of the lens. Now it just started to work again. I doubt it was dirty as it was working fine few years ago and after this camera was sitting in the case untouched. It broke because it was not used for too long :)

      Bro since u r saying as u hear whining motor noise, so motor is stuck and it cant able to make a rotation. so 1st try to open and clean the motor. Just push the small wheel up u will get a gap, clean that gap manually until it gets a little free movement and try sometimes it may work. If still cannot thn u can purchase it through

      @@criticalloop thank u so much for replying. The focus motor works for 3-4 shots then makes a whining noise and then goes totally dead. I have to remove the lens from the body and re attatch many times for it to work again. So i guess the motor has gone weak.

    Hello
    Nice video. I have also a 35 1.8, that is not so use, but stop focusing automatically, it squeezy some time is like is struggling to focus and something is in the way. After some of this didn't work in automatically . After I have rotated many time manual focus. It was working again 1-2 times. But when it reach maximum focus or something stop working . Any idea ? Should I buy a new motor ? Or try to open and put some alcohol on motor .

    Is it the same "silent wave motor" for all lenses? I have a 17-35 af-s with a broken AF (still does manual fine) and I want to open it to check the switch is ok as well as changé the motor if needed

    My Nikon lense makes a rattling noise when I use auto focus. Do you think it could be an issue with the motor? Just curious, how much should I expect (roughly) of to replace a motor 🤔? Thanks in advance

    I do have question, when the autofocus motor is broken, is it the cause for the lens to not focus well?

    • @criticalloop
      @criticalloop  Před 2 lety

      No bro. We can still focus using manual focus ring.
      Unless the part which i remove at 3:49's connection is lost or the plastic gear wheel damaged thn might have issues in focusing as far as i know.
