Jan6- direct Toronto-Manila. Landing 4:30 in the morning. Luggage was ready in 20 minutes
Total time to clear airport 30 to 40 minutes very simple very organized excellent facilities lots of space - this was five in the morning
    - NOTE - wait and buy sim card outside of airport 1/4 price
DUTY FREE- Example Chocolate also johnnie walker was quadruple the price that you would find in a large store in any city (save your money)

I've flown into Manila from San Francisco twice within the past year, once to T2, and the last time to T1. Both times needed to transfer to Tacloban. First time took PAL to TAC so didn't need to exit the terminal. But 2nd time took Cebu Pacific in T3, which means taking a shuttle bus that takes you OUTSIDE the airport to get to T3. Are you kidding me? This has to be the worst setup in the world. Can't wait (20+ years?!) for then new airport to be built at Bulacan.

as a tourist u ned to watch out when u arive at NAIA. From the moment you set foot on land you are a potential target. That starts with passport control until you leave the airport and even then you are not safe from scammers, thieves, etc. everything in the airport and around it is a playground for thieves . , and that goes for tourists who come in as well as for those who leave .

(15hr flight Manila - Toronto landed last night) PHILIPPINE AIR - observations - 1) Flight attendant came out of CR/ washroom after 10 min (i was waiting in line) After coming out wearing gloves she put some alcohol on gloves and rubbed together (quick rub with minimal contact between the two hands) i am not nurse but work in health care related this was not a proper handwash for any situation ... JUST SAYING staff are great they work hard I appreciate but i) i dont think they receive high level of training re food handling ii) quite possibly they are given one set of gloves per shift or some form of rationing ??? We also witnessed this in health clinic and hospital when accompanying relative to hospital (one staff wore same pair of gloves / other nurse never put on gloves even for what is considered sterile procedure in Canada - hospitals are private i suppose this is cost saving measure but at what cost to your health) 2) i was 4 hour early @ Manila for my flight I have own water bottle nalgene After going thru security we were screened again at the gate and had to dump water (told this is routine) this was 2.5 hours ahead of flight the UNFORTUNATE ELDERs were left lined up in wheelchairs 15-20 elders using w.c. on this flight - NONE we given water in that 2.5 hours YES there was a water filling station wi 3 min walk of gate but OUT OF ORDER (for 3+ hours) the next closest Water Station 15 min walk round trip so i used that but POOR ELDERLY essentially denied water I specifically asked gate crew that SINCE passenger can not bring water inside gate and since we are asked to be there 2+ hours early COULD THEY NOT GET SOME BOTTLES OF WATER to hand out to customer inside of Gate- consistently staff responded 'please use the free water station - LOL even I told them its 15 min walk was told by vendor that these Fillling station are commonly OUT OF ORDER OVERALL A GOOD EXPERIENCE i likely fly PAir again because of direct flight but i will bring my own food and water to avoid getting sick on $2500 flight thats all

    1. Umbrellas are considered weapons, so don't try taking one on board with you. I had to throw mine away. However, this was departing. Just a strange situation. I got singled out, and had to empty my bags onto the floor while waiting to get my ticket. So I'm sitting there with all my stuff on the floor, and they finally found my dangerous weapons, which I was allowed to dispose of in a nearby garbage can. Dunno... just, it was raining, and what was I supposed to do? 2. On arrival, realize that they don't let just anybody in. If you have somebody waiting for you, they have to wait outside the terminal. 3. Be careful of taxis. They'll tell you they don't know where your hotel is, even though you can give them the exact address. They'll take you to another hotel that pays them to deliver tourists. Worst hotel I've ever been to! TV didn't work, door didn't lock, and there were roaches. Fortunately, I had some red horse beer.

The way they gave us back our passports was the way a teacher passes out test scores by calling out names 🙄 We had to go thru security check twice. When we got to our gate, we had to go thru security check again. Oh, and if you leave your designated gate area, you have to go thru security again; every single time. Cebu Pacific (CP) told me when I bought my ticket to go to Terminal 3 for the flight. Now it seems that all CP-domestic flights are departing from Terminal 2. Can you confirm, please. Another query, is there an over night hotel or short-time lodge (like The Wings NAIA 3) in Terminal 2? What is available in Terminal 2 for a short overnight stay? Maraming salamat, po.

If you fly PAL, I don’t trust their baggage crew, it’s either you lose baggage or it might get open and your pasalubong is gone.

Cannot recommend this point highly enough. I'm A British Filipino expat who moved to the Philippines last year. Ask where the grab desk is upon arrival and they'll help you there. So when u hit customs they just scan you in that’s it? I thought they ask you how long your be and you have to show u have money in ur bank account and stuff like that.

Wonder what that groaning was at 01:22 😮 I never get tired of the sight of BGC, driving there was always so much easier than the rest of the city. On my last trip it was pretty easy landing from Vancouver too, full vaccination and documents at the ready made it a breeze to get through!
