Love your content and your 535! Very helpful and informative videos. I'm looking to buy an F10 535i in the near future with the N55 engine. What buyer's advice would you give to me? What to look for and are there any instant giveaways? Can't afford a very low mileage one though, maybe somewhere between 70k to 90k miles would fir my wallet right now.
Thank you for the kind words! I would definitely do a carfax on any vehicle first. I am lucky enough to be good friends with someone who has a dealership and worked with me to get my vehicle from auction and save the retail sticker price. Check for leaks under the car and under the hood. Inspect the oil filter housing unit for oil leaks located in front of the intake box where the circular oil filter is. At the mileage you mentioned, I would recommend you get an oil change as well as a transmission flush to start fresh. Getting new plugs and coils is also a good idea if not done already. When you test drive make sure radio is off. Listen for any tapping or knocking and push the car a bit. Floor the pedal from a stop up to the posted speed limit (an area where you can get up to 55-60mph) a few times as you were doing a 0-60 test.

Sorry if it has been asked before. Have you had any fitment issues with the VSRF kits charge pipe/down pipe? It is not listed as supported on their website, however it seems as if the charge pipe worked well for you at the very least.
It fit perfect for me. It lists 535 as compatible fitment on the item description in their website

ThicGarage went with the G plus. After poking around on forums and the F10 Facebook group I don’t think it’s worth the extra money to go VRSF or Wagner. Apparently the G plus is a direct clone of the Wagner and is $250 whereas Wagner is near 1k. I have the intercooler ready to go in and the quality seems great for the price
That’s interesting. Would love to hear your feedback after install. VRSf is about $500.
ThicGarage installed the g plus last night and today. It was a mega pain in the ass and I even have a lift. So the fit is extremely tight. I had to file off a good amount of metal off the passenger side outlet on the intercooler just to get it in (doesn’t affect anything). Everything in this job is a pain so getting the tubes back on took a while but it all fits together good with squeezing and maneuvering. Just was careful not to break anything and luckily I didn’t. I got a noticeable increase in power and my IAT is down to 100 on a test drive in 92° Florida sun never paid much attention before but I believe it was around 160-170 before. I also ended up only paying 190$ for the intercooler because they didn’t send brackets so I contacted them through amazon and got 60$ back. All in all the intercooler is great. I wouldn’t want to do the install again though. Gains were worth it however.

Can not wait!! I am pretty much doing the same build that you have. I know BMS is the cheaper solution but I feel the afe intake is better all around.

don’t have any in mind for the 535 right now. Maybe down the road.
There are turbos for daily drivers and track that you can run with pump gas and meth
I have a 535 and did a muffle and res delete I have a charge pipe coming and the intake can’t ship to ca so imma ship in to Oregon and go pick it up

Congrats! It does not you need an obd2 adapter. I recommend the Veepeak brand that I have a link for in description

I don’t think that one is an approved adapter. The veepeak BLE+ works great

Yep if u have the money go bagged. Not sure on the exhaust question...they are a similar chassis but definitely longer exhaust.

BimmerCode lets you change the brightness of your angel eyes up to 100%. But what is the factory setting % ?
Pretty sure it was set to 8% factory
ThicGarage thank you for your reply. I read lots of different %s, from 8% to 100% on the forums. I think my parking lights are 8% from factory but the drls or angel eyes are much brighter. On BimmerCode it just displays ‘unassigned value’ for drls so it’s difficult without a start value to know whether you’re increasing or decreasing the brightness without running round to the front of the car to catch them as they change!

That could be a few different things. Are you getting any other info with the code such as
P112F - Manifold Absolute Pressure to Throttle Angle - Too High (Bank 1) have you done any recent mods to it? This code could be something easy and a cheap fix but could also be something expensive. would need to know some more history of you vehicle also when did u notice code come up? Code p112f can relate to charge pipes. It can relate to throttle valves. It can indicate larger problems to come or it could indicate nothing more than a misadaption.
I open the engine oil cap wild the car was on then the lights come on
Check that the oil filler cap has a good seal. if the code is still recurring, the causes still exist.
