What I expected is that naofumi is going to use his rage shield during the chorus but not, but still, this is the one of the best tate no yuusha no nariagari amv, and I'm sure, you tried your best so i cannot blame you
I've always wondered how the hell is the shielder class the weakest in their MMO's? How the hell do you progress through raids without a tank?! Just get carried by the pile of your old dead bodies, using them as fodder against the boss?!
Well, from what I've heard from people who've read the Light Novel, it's like this: The Shield is the worst Tank Class, in that it does little damage, and as you grow up in levels, it didn't perform as well in the tanking role as the other classes, even to the point that the Shield was about to get removed from each of the games by the devs, since only a small handful were playing it, and even then.... nobody was exactly game-breaking with it.
The situation is rather similar in most games unfortunately: When starting out, it does very well, taking most of the damage without flinching. However, as the levels increase, the other types also gain certain resistances+defense buffs, and more often then not, their agility allows them to simply dodge attacks instead of having to tank them. By contrast, the tank tends to remain slow, with very little offensive abilities, making it hopelessly outclassed in the late game. (It's like that a lot in Golden Sun, League of Legends, Pokemon, etc). Granted its tanking abilities become legendary, but its inability to properly dish out damage makes it more of a handicap rather than an asset. Of course, there are many ways to use tanks effectively, and when done properly, it's really, REALLY funny, cause you have this guy who's pretty much immortal (cue Alfyn from Octopath Travaler), and more recent games tend to give the tank a shit ton of attack power to try and balance it out a little.

Naofumi's hatred is a serious character flaw in the novels, so Raphtalia has to act as his conscience.
