Om Puri in role in 90's understood this concept and made girl --a life of his boy and respected by not taking dowry , as how much girl spent anywhere else..major of her salary portion will help his son n her in their family growth..which in trun will reduce a burden of assisting his son getting a financial stability......but very very unfortunate thing is now in 20's era as well after getting highly educated n earning daughter in law ...there are mean self centred guy parents who are still greedy in asking dowry and later holding daughter in law hand on not to spent a single penny on her parents.. same parents who lifted up from society and gave good expensive education by bearing pain and resistance from society... If not successful in attempts ..provoke son to hold her hand in doing so..creating a gap breaks in new relationship....still feel happy of what they do to his son n his wife....and ..even though all portions she devotes happily to son and he new growing up family... Such ruthless mentality still should be understood in reverse way by exchanging son and daughter in law role and then feel the absence of feeling for them..such state of minds are curse to society and to girl who still wants treat in laws as her own parent till her last breath
