    Alternatively, it is possible to work with textures, fillings and surfaces directly on your piece of wall, this is probably a bit quicker, I would say.

      Yes you can but a couple of things: it won't be quicker, well at least not for me :) don't forget I was modeling in " tutorial mode " and you still have to create a texture/fillings which take time too . Then there is the aspect of 3D Visualisation, the more detail you model in 3D, the more realistic it will look ( shadow gaps, real edges etc. ) Also textures don't show up on Elevations for DA's and construction dwg

      Working with a texture will not have the same effect as was shown in this tutorial. The cutting process gives geometric data to the outer wall that will be presented in 2D detail drawings.
