As a kid I never realized how good this song was because I was scared of one of the monsters in the credits sequence. But I can appreciate it now for sure.
LMFAO no worries dude you weren't the only one that was scared of something form the movie. I used to have nightmares that the blue monster that messes up the fake bedroom scare was scaring me instead.
For sure nostalgia. I used to watch the movie and it positively reachs me to see it becoming a pillar of memes. It is kind of odd to see it being used and regarded as a song for situations where everything is going wrong (Chernobyl inc for example) but I guess when the reactor largely exceeds 3.6 roetgens ... the whole system is dancing. Me encanta el hecho de qué el tema de Monsters Inc sea un jazz le agrega todavía mas el toque Pixar además de que el jazz es un género de música bastante hermoso.
I heard a same and similar music of Monsters at Work when I was watched in Disney+ already was so fantastic and it's been for 20 years since 2001 when I was a 5 years old that's my parents takes me and my brothers to see this during November 2001! Happy 20th Anniversary!
This is my favorite part of the song! I think it's a clarinet based on the timbre (the "texture" of the sound). Additionally, the style of music is reminiscent of early 20th century New Orleans music, which heavily featured the clarinet, and rarely featured saxophone. Jelly Roll Morton is a great example of a bandleader who usually featured clarinet over the sax.
Sadly it's been 19 years since the tragic loss of James Coburn(Waternoose). Sure he might've voiced one of the most scary ass motherfuckers is Disney history, but he's still one of the OGs who gave many kids childhood memories, especially Mary Gibbs(Boo). Of course a 90s kid like her was lucky enough to work with an old school Hollywood tough guy like James.
Saxophone player here. You literally need to breathe like that before playing because of how much air the saxophone needs. Like if you don’t you’ll probably pass out before you find a good spot to breathe

Monsters Inc. is probably my favorite Pixar movies. The characterization is amazing, and the jokes still hit home 10+ years after I first saw it. In fact, I'd go on record and say it's funnier now than it ever has been. Sure, it doesn't have the greatest Pixar plot ever conceived. But it's one of the funniest and even most heartwarming, and it's a huge part of my childhood and one of my favorite movies ever.
