For the people who say “Don’t interfere with nature”, I was fixing a cabin, replacing wood and painting. The snake was in the way and it tried to bite me. It had to go, I don’t get paid enough to get bit by snakes lol 🐍 Edit: people are mad I dropped the snake, I’m not terrified of snakes, but I’m no snake expert and I don’t know how to properly handle them. I’m not taking the risk when I’m 10 feet off the ground on a ladder.
Unfortunate, but the important thing is that the parent(s) escaped. If they were killed, their babies would have died regardless. But if they escaped, they can always go on to start another brood.
I guess an adult robin isn’t much of a match against a snake, and would have little to no success in fighting one off to protect its chicks. Robins have many predators to contend with: snakes, crows, blue jays, owls, foxes, hawks, raccoons, cats, squirrels, even chipmunks.

Unrelated but this reminded me of this one rainy day a few years ago. I stopped to greet a snail, and left it thinking it would be ok. The next day I walked the same way and was sad to see the snail was crushed in the same spot after I left. It's sad but what can you do.
I was just walking and I step on something, it was a very hot day, I look down. It's a frog. My favourite animals were frogs. (It wasn't dead from me stepping on it it was already on its back)
Robins by the sound of it. I've seen a parent robin defend the unfledged chick from a blue jay whilst outside on the ground, chick pestering parent- feed me! feed me! Also witnessed from a distance whilst several jays drive off a red wing blackbird as they stay and eat all the chicks. When the jays left, she left a trail of feathers when she flew up, the male was about a block away, watching from a rooftop. Also saw birds at a feeder scatter job st before a jay arrived. The only birds staying were a pair of boat tailed grackles, but were awfully nervous, keeping watch on the jay.

This is cruel, today my family found a field mouse nest in one of our pool chairs, my mother walked right up and dumped the babies out, the mother ran off, we tried to give the baby mice a nice place to sit outside but I’m leaving home for a few days and a thunderstorm is coming, I likely won’t see them again.
The baby bird I found yesterday looks just like these exactly, im currently taking care of it since I couldn’t find a nest, is this just common fledging looks or will it get more unique later?

Males are a lot brighter, but you can see the momma fly away when the snake shows up on the video. looks like pretty common fledgling when I googled it though.

I moved the snake across the property. I found about 4 snakes in the attic of that house. They’re gunna eat when they want to eat. They’re smarter than you think.

The thing that people fail to understand is that this happens everyday and is completely natural. People also need to understand that the snake needs food and can't settlr for something else. It's not like he can just ask for food. The baby's are all he's able to eat.
