- Hey guys! Today I am testing a fellow youtube creator's own craft kit! This is by NerdeEcrafter (Jackie) and it's called "Not Another Crap Kit." This is an INTENSE kit that involves plaster, clay, sculpture, resin and painting to create your fully custom figurine. This is such a creative idea for a kit. I am a complete beginner when it comes to using polymer clay, BUT I am going to do my best to create something really cool. Hope you guys like it!

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh đ ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 26 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating, painting and general art videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. In the hand that the bearâs supposed to be holding something, you could put a spatula (or other utensil) to make it seem like the bear is cooking something- hence the apron.

I like your bear. It turned out really cute. I think the apron was a really good compromise. And considering the 'doesn't stand on her own' you could always just glue her on a little base so it isn't really that much of a problem.

I love rewatching vids on Jackies kit.
Would love to see you pick it up again and try out more of the tools in it, see how far you've come :) But no pressure, you're full of good ideas as it is :)
The fact that you're an artist, painter, creater (whatever) and can see through the lens of criticism and improvement on its own just makes you that much more of a creator, an artist, a painter.
We learn more when we realize what we don't know. Such a good video on developing and trying new skills.
Super fun to watch with a great result. However, I would have loved to see you push through and try some new stuff. I know it is super daunting sometimes to try new mediums. Resin really isn't hard to do. The way Jackie's kit sets it up is really easy and is a good introduction into resin and it really changes the potential of the resulting figure. I really hope you can maybe pick up the second kit and try a more ambitious project using the things you didn't end up using.
I agree, I have not seen others using this kit since I'm don't watch many of their videos and i felt a bit disappointed since I'm a resin artist and thought I would be seeing Moriah tackle her anxieties about resin.
I think its also refreshing to see someone be ok with where theyre at right now. If shes not having fun pushing herself wont make it fun. Its not a competition.
@@troebeliewoep Moriah does strike me as someone who gets stressed about new things but, still has fun doing it and can utilize what she learns to make her art even better. Progress is good in small doses and you aren't making huge jumps that make you go in over your head. Getting experience with resin here is easier since she would be following a structured kit. Resin is fairly easy when doing it for small things. Especially when UV resin is very useful as opposed to part A/part B with a 24 hour cure time type of resin.

As someone who uses a ton of apoxie sculpt, I laughed so hard at Moriahâs fear of it. I was terrified of it at first too
this was really fun to watch! and seeing as you have the mold, maybe in the future, seeing as you have the other tools, maybe you can slowly try and experiment with the other tools in the kit, like the resin and the apoxy clay, or even experiment more with sculpy!

I love Moriahâs and Jackieâs friendship. I also love how theyâre similar because theyâre both very creative and crafty, but they also have their different skills and art styles. Itâs so cool watching them try out each otherâs techniques and supplies.

"Intense kneading"
Moriah, you might practice with old fondant. It dries and hardens over time so to make it soft again you have to do a lot of massaging and kneading, it also tastes delicious and you can't over-knead it. Great for beginners.

I think it's great that you dived right in. I haven't ordered a kit because the thought of all those materials and tools kind of intimidated me, like an embarrassment of riches, and I think I needed to see someone say "OK, we got all this stuff, but I'm only going to use this, this, and this" and get a result like that adorable little bear.
