I love teaching my children to be gender fluid. My three year old often tells me that she's a boy so I'm not really sure what to do with her, so I let her wear "boy" clothes and "girl" clothes when she wants. She's one hell of a kid and every time she tells me she wants to be a dad, or a brother, or a boy, I just ask "are you going to be a good one?"

sisyphus I had role models. I was raised as a girl. And this is exactly WHY I went through an identity crisis- just to find out how I feel the best.
"It's a child, why would you.." can go either way, believe me.

Awe, thank you for reaching out Cara. Yeah, I forgot what I preached for awhile, so lately I've made it a practice to look up at the night sky every night before I go to sleep, even in the city when there's only one star in the sky to see, just to remind myself where I come from and how small I am. Hope you're having a gender Euphoric day.

Do you notice that it's always the women talking about gender boundaries, and not the men... It's seems that men are happier with their gender, and women are the ones whining about it...

Well done and very powerfully delivered! Nice contribution to the discussion of the flaws and the weaknesses in our cultural gender binary system. It's unfortunate that we humans take our cultural norms as gospel truths rather than the artificial constructs that they absolutely are. It's our own ignorance to be sure, but we are also capable of learning and growing. I think you've help at least some of us to grow-up, and for that I thank you!

As a woman in the Army I had the ‘opportunity’ to embrace the lean, green, communicatin’ machine AND the compassionate, nurturing person I am. True story, bein’ kinda southern, I called everybody in my platoon honey or sweetie. Until a private-lowest-class called me honey. I locked his heels and said “that’s Sergeant Honey to you private.” And thereafter modified my speech. So, citizen. I understand, a bit.

      Oh shut up
      "citizen"
The last time I heard about a paratrooper (fresh back from combat) mouthing off and tossing drinks, he ended up half beaten to death behind the alley by the 300 pound Somoan "citizen" he didn't understand he'd better bow to.
      Learn your place, soldier.

Interesting... I my opinion I think when someone is born is born with a gender, of course there are some rare cases (maybe not so rare) when there is a medical problem or difference i should say better.
After that you are free to choose whatever you like. For instance you are a man and you feel attractive to women or to men or even to both, but you are a man.
I think the real issue is the social gender and disparity that there is. We dont need a social gender but we are not ready for that unfortunately.
