Keeping it simple during a trip staying in a cabin in the woods, and what better way to celebrate being away during fall than by making music with the amazing Fall script by @Ambalek in the forest!
Monome Norns Shield going straight into Eventide Blackhole while offscreen the Electron Digitakt is playing 3 asynchronous tape loops consisting of some improvised violin I recorded before the trip (these were actually recorded over 6 channels so that they could all be in stereo). This is all then being recorded directly onto my Marantz PMD661.

One of the issues I'm having with Norns rn is it feels like pretty much everyone just loads the most popular scripts then makes a video about that and nothing else. No content on how to code the thing or make something neat yourself. Just these videos of it and some script being all aesthetically pleasing and that's about it. Kind of shtting in the face of its open-sourced ness. I just picked up an actual norns after waiting like 3 years and it ecosystem feels kind of dead. I can load up falls and plug it into my zoia too. I guess I just need a camera next.
Sorry you feel that way but agree there is not a lot of content out there tackling the coding aspect of Norns, I’m no coder but know I would like to see something like that.

And how is Digitakt used here? I own one but can't understand its function here. Did you use it as a sampler with pre-recorded violin sounds and then played a bit with probability and triggers?

The Shield is a little portable computer basically, it can be loaded with scripts/tools for musicmaking made by a community that is open source, really wonderful little box.The rest is explained in the description!
Yes, @fabianandersson8956 gives a great answer to what the Norns is! with respect to the Digitakt, yes I’m using it as a sampler with some prerecorded violin riffs on but I’m not using the sequencer or any triggers, the samples are looping over and over but are asynchronous so they ebb and flow around each other creating different phrases each time.
