i will never forget the feeling i had and the rest of the arena had after the nino goal and then when that montreal score popped up on the screen. what a game. 10 years of existential dread gone in the matter of 2 and 1/2 hours. ... Watching this again. My Gosh, everyone would be deaf if they had skated into the boards after this.
Don't care what anyone says, Mrazek did more for this team than the "better" goalies that have come after him. I know he's injury prone, and can be wild, but sorry Andersen, Raanta, whoever, haven't done for the team and fanbase what Petr helped do imo.
@@andrewelliott1592 indeed they have. Honestly, I get bugged by people saying Rod is on the hot seat. Rod is nowhere near on the hot seat. In his 4 years he has transformed a mediocre at best team to a team that is an actual cup contender. The Canes aren’t that far removed from the drought to not remember it.
UDAMAN ncsu1 Was there and cant believe how loud it was and got even louder when they showed the Habs score on screen. A night and a memory I'll never forget.
I come here often and I'm so glad this is on CZcams for all of us to see. This was the first year I was a Caniac. Before that I was a rabid Pens fan but that all changed when Justin Williams announced he was coming home. That was by far the most fun year of hockey I've ever watched and the memories I made that year will stick with me forever. I was in the commons room in my dorm watching this game by myself and when Nino scored, I legit broke down and cried for most of the rest of that game. I knew what I was signing up for when I decided to be a Caniac and going into the year, a part of me figured they'd probably be close to the playoffs, but when they finally made it that night, it was an incredible feeling of relief and excitement. How I wish I could get that same feeling back now. This year has been so much fun, but it'll never be nearly as fun as 2019.
I’ve been a lifelong Canes fan but I wasn’t ever into hockey from 2014 right up until the 2021 playoffs. Man, I love watching videos of the team during this time just to remind me how far we’ve come, from laughing stock to yearly cup contenders
Looking back almost a year and a half later this moment is still super special. You could feel the dread of years without success melting and a new feeling of optimism come. These players are still gonna do special things

Honestly almost teared up watching this again...this was the best hockey game I have been to zero doubt. 2019 was magical
Update: it happened again
Update it happened AGAIN
John Forslund's call at the end is amazing! Counting down two games at the same time!!!!
Probably a top 10 moment in Canes history for me. Definitely one of my absolute favorite regular season moments for sure

Every now and then this video pops up and I watch it every time. So glad i was able to be there that game, it was a hell of a night
Brind'Amour may have saved the Canes organization.
howard baxter Tom Dundon saved the Organization.
@@ghgmusic5970 Tom bought the team, LUCKILY kept Rod, and the rest....well.....let us see how it works out ......
Brind'Amour and Justin Williams saved this team. Brind'Amour instilling the culture from behind the bench and Justin enforcing it on the ice

2 conference finals run in 5 years
I'm so happy that Williams and Forslund were part of this incredible moment and postseason one last time.
Love that Forslund had a Kevin Harlan moment as the Habs-Caps game was coming to a close.
“I’M CALLIN’ BOTH GAMES!”

3:25 AYE! THAT'S ME WAVING THAT RALLY TOWEL!!!! (I was a little camera shy, that's why I immediately sat down)
LETS GOOOOOOOOO HUGE CANIAC FOR LIFE 🎉
Damn, I miss John.
That roar at 4:30 when the crowd realized they broken the playoff drought 🥲 Priceless

After 8 long years he is back
WE'RE IN! WE'RE IN! YESSSSSSS! YESSSSSSS! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I just have to say this but right after Nino scores, it sounds like “The Nights” kicks in first before “Raise Up”
I was at work for the Caps series winner.
I will never forget.
I really miss Nino.
If they seriously dont resign forslund... cmon give the man whatever the hell he wants
:(
i cried so much from being happy
