You rule🤘🤘
For me The Chameleons will be the most underated rock band in this planet.
Totally agree👍
some of her song are 2M view that's not so bad
Excuse me. They are a goth band!
Most underrated band in the fucking world. Setlist is pure gold!
That’s me down the front by Dave ...this band meant everything to me at 19. This is impossibly nostalgic to find and watch again 36 years later. Still love them....
That's incredible! I can't begin to imagine how that feels!
I'm in the front row in a brown leather jacket. Amazing gig! And it was free entry 🙃
I'm really happy for you, the performances here were really spiritual for me to see compared to others, wish I could have been there for that.
That's awesome....Chameleons and Wipers are still my favorite bands ( not stuck in the 80's as I love great later bands, but I always come back to them)
I just (last week Nov. 2 2022) finally saw them (him) live! After 40 years of listening! Incredible "Nostalgia"!!
These guys deserved so much better in terms of audience size and recognition. One of the best bands few people know about.
It's true 👍
Are you related in any way to The Cure's bassist?
If this were in 2024 the audience would be going crazy because they know what an epic band this was (is) now 40 yrs later
The melody of the guitars....just amazing! Their sound hits me in the core like no other. My favourite band forever, until I die, without a doubt.
My God, their guitar sounds are so amazing and beautiful. So unique.
When I listen to them in 2023 I love it even more than 30 years ago!. The melodies, the guitars riffs and melodies are simply amazing......
Criminal this as only had so little views.. Superb performance!!
It's true
I was born in the mid 70's, and grew up with most of the bands from the 80's, but only stumbled upon The Chamelions a few months ago! How did I not know of them before. One of the best bands I've heard, what a great haunting sound they have, excellent.
1 Chameleons

The House Of Love
Holy shit. Thank you
forgot the passions
Pale Saints
Slag gets old quick to me.... I thought they were the best thing ever when I first found them. Now it's they're kind of meh to me. Chameleons though they're a different beast.
What a spectacular set! My dad turned me on to the Chameleons a few years ago and I've been digging them ever since. He's never seen them live (nor have I), but we are finally going to see them this upcoming September.
They were really massive amongst my group of punk and post-punk friends in Lerwick, Shetland Islands. Strange times that fitted like a Second Skin.
Such a cult and gorgeous band here...so underrated but the few people hear this is the cultest!!
Dave fielding is an amazingly underrated guitarist
Spoke to him about gear in another CZcams comment section and I don’t think he realises the impact his playing has on most of us
@@theointhebeanie7008 i think i saw that, good to see him on youtube, and he has an album to release
@@theointhebeanie7008, I wanna read that convo! Where can I find it?
@@ebeep type in “Dave fielding less than human” and look in the comments you’ll find it
Thank you!
I'm speechless. These guys are beyond comprehension. Just wow!!!!!
wauw what a mind blowing pristine quality!! thank you for this outstanding upload!! No one even today can make Albums like their first two.. to maintain this dreamy sound throughout from start till finish. Wish i Could be in that concert.. They sound unbelievably brilliant live.. I love it how the crowd is just so concentrated on the music, feeling every beat and word. They deserved success on global scale like The Smiths, New Order and U2!
keep digging, there's later work i only just found out about. lots of fine gems
Absolute treasure...these guys have never stopped being in heavy rotation for me. One of the greatest of all time. Thank you for posting this gem. Unbelievable how they managed to bring their huge studio sound to the stage as well as they did here. Fantastic.
The Chameleons is absolute magic band❤❤❤❤
Manchester's finest!!!
Diffinatly
Someone once asked me if The Courteeners were the best band from Manchester. I said they're not even the best band from Middleton.
This band is brilliant... don't know how they aren't more popular
The guitars sounds effects of this band are fantastic. Drums and bass give that great post punk vibe too.
Esta banda ajudou me numa fase difícil. Obrigado!
9:53 'I need to know what is real , and what is illusion' , says it all really, especially in these days .
Thanks for this upload. This has to be one of the best Chameleons' show available on CZcams rightnow.
One of my favorite bands of all time! I have been listening to them since 83, my other boys are Echo and the Bunnymen!
Pffff… just LOVE this band! Thnx for sound enhancement, amazing! Drums and Bass come out so much better now
What a sound...what a band...
1st time I saw them was in Danceteria. Bottom floor. They looked like they were 16 and they rocked that place like no other band of the time. After that they played the Ritz. Saw them every time they played NYC. That band got me through the 80's. In the 90's it was Catherine Wheel. These days it's Manchester Orchestra.
Listen to those lyrics, Mark Burgess is a genius , and each member complimented the others perfectly . Would have been one of the biggest rock bands on the planet, but the music industry beast system could not have millions listening to those lyrics .
Just bought a double CD at Amoeba Music last week that has this concert on it, contains the DVD as well. So stoked I found it because this concert is incredible!❤️🎶
4:05 - now THAT'S how you start a track, aahhhh memories! 😎☮- what a version that is!
Bands from the 90's and all of 2000's CAN ONLY DREAM TO PLAY LIKE THIS*
DEX..thanks for this..A great concert made better by your mix and master!! Thanks..Chameleons are the BEST!!
Brilliant live performance how did i miss these in the 80s
Iam 58 now first got to know this band on the legend he his john peel went out got the Album's and still playing them to this day pure class
What a great band ! Sound and picture nicely remastered !
I think this was a Friday night and it was free to get in because it was for a TV show. They played about 6.00pm from memory because it was disco night! I remember going down after work with some workmates. Fucking great band. Those first two albums are superb.
Yes, it was for free @ friday the 9th nov 1984
14:57 love this guy, he's entranced and loving it, bit like me when I first found this gig video.
Thank you for this. Only got into them in the last 10 years. This literally saved me today 🖤😢 I finally got to see them live last week. What a gift.
What a band!
Thanks for this piece of fantastic history !
Must admit, never heard of them, but I always was a fan of The Wipers and through them this band came up ....
I am in love with this sound
👍🌷✌❤🌡💥💋
Hands down one of the coolest bands in the universe
That drummer in the song "in shreds" is outstanding!
Their guitar sound is superb!
Brilliant
Second Skin
@@taliertagreen7264 а мне нравится view from a hill
Pure fucking magic. I discovered them about 15 years ago as young guy. So beyond happy and excited I’m going to get to see them in LA in a couple weeks!!!!
This is way too perfect! Thank you, thank you thank you!
J'aurais tellement aimé y être ! Merci dexbam ;)
Ando echando unas cahuamas (cerveza de a litro) y esta banda me prende... larga vida a The Chameleons... pura rola oscura compa. Subeloooooo
ahuevo
I love this band. Fantastic!
Thanks for doing this in HD.
ridiculously good band
Killer audio on this. Good work!
THANKYOU so much for sharing this BRILLIANT BAND
So good!! Thanks for posting!
Joy Division + Killing Joke + The Chameleons = HOLY TRINITY of Post Punk
awesome quality! Thanks for this!
Grazie a chi ha postato su CZcams io amo i the chameleons sono fantastici
Watching this on the Roku channel. Beautifully brilliant.
Any drummers watching this? Check out his setup...never seen that before, like half-lefty with the floor tom righty? Wild.
Great concert, great band, inspired me since the 80th ...
Dexbam, thank you for this and your early Simple Minds stuff, it's excellent.
Got this on an old worn out vhs video tape, so to see this quality reworking is brilliant. Thanks mate.
I have loved this entire show but the fact that they ended it with Paper Tigers had me reeling. One of the best bands in history!!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Fucking great band who I’ve loved since hearing them on the John Peel show as a spotty teen
Thank you, dexbam, just...Thank you! 💜
Thanks for the upload. I was there!
amazing gig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hot shit! What a live act!
Ashamed I slept on these guys…
Brilliant. I put this up there with The Mats and Husker Du at First Avenue in terms of old-school band recordings.
This is fucking brilliant, love this underrated band of brilliant music, would like too see them in Stockholm 👍
It would be great if they came to Bremen, Germany. I would go to that concert.
This is absolutely outstanding stuff
Magical! I was there. in my mind.
They were specials. Influence of various bands here in Spain, like @heroesdelsilencio and also, my band, DenisDenis.
Long life Chamaleons!
Thanks a lot! This is great!!!
What a show! So better than U2 during the same period !
If U2 didn't have young women creaming their knickers over Bono and Larry they would have been forgotten about very quickly.....this is a real band!
Disagree. If you watch the early U2 live stuff, they were very good.
one of the best bands ever.
Amo este concierto
Amamos
Interpol definitely took a lot of notes on this band
This was a stunning presentation, btw…looks like it was filmed last month!🔥😵
Thank you!
great quality thanks
Merci ! Thank you ❤
beutyfull sound great band this music have a power
Que banda impresionante!
Way ahead of their time, great video thanks for sharing!
It makes me proud to be a human because humans can create a song as good as this 13:07
@Jeff Baker the way the drummer god rest his soul smacks that drum on this track sends shivers doon me spine. Its an unbelievable song and performance. Marks friendly down to earth "ta very much" at the end and giving the girl the ribinna is funny too. The whole band are fantastic.
@Jeff Baker i emailed mark recently asking if he'd sign my script of the bridge album. Had no reply yet.
@Jeff Baker haha yes it was thanks for pointing that out. Ive corrected it now 👍😊cheers
Excellent quality. Did you use upscaling? Love the Chameleons
GREAT THE CHAMELEONS
'Here Today' the first track we we heard from the Chameleons , my brother taped it off the legendary John Peel show way back in the mists of time, what the feck I'm 60 now, and living in New Zealand ,how did I get here from Belfast, CAREFUL WITH THOSE CHOICES YOU MAKE FOLKS lol.
thank you. great work!
