    Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
    Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
    From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
    Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, television’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator).
    The creative team on this action-adventure event is led by director/producer Alex Kurtzman and producer Chris Morgan, who have been instrumental in growing some of the most successful franchises of the past several years-with Kurtzman writing or producing entries in the Transformers, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible series, and Morgan being the narrative engineer of the Fast & Furious saga as it has experienced explosive growth from its third chapter on. Sean Daniel, who produced the most recent Mummy trilogy, produces alongside Kurtzman and Morgan. www.themummy.com

    Really enjoyed it, watched it several times, but I have questions. So, Amanet kills her dad, mom and brother, but then she makes a deal with death to become this monstrously powerful evil being so that she can bring the god of death into mortal form with the special dagger. What is this deal? Was death saying "Ill make you live forever but you got to become a monster that kills some dude to be your chosen and let me into his body so I can rule over you? She talks about revenge. Certainly not revenge against her father. Pretty much already checked that box. Revenge against the guys who buried her that have been dead for 2000 years? So the focus of the plot changes to her finding another chosen that she can bring death into a mortal form. What's in it for her? She's already a god. She was angry at her father, but she goes right from that to angry at the world. Then Tom gets the knife stabs himself, so has Death entered his body and I guess rather than rule over darkness he decides to go buddy adventures with sidekick.
    I sound like a fan boy bitch, but I really did love the movie. I just understand some of the motivation ( and why the hell they put Crowe in it.)
    It grossed about 400 mil world wide, only a little over 1 mil in the states and it cost 318 mil to make so it looks like the Universal Dark Universe is done. Shame. I would have loved to see what they did with Frankenstein and Bride of. Maybe Frank gets mixed and becomes a tranny.

    It's always seems strange to me watching these behind the scenes footage where everyone talks about what they hope to accomplish and how they are trying to do right by the movie and the fans....but when the reviews come out it's basically a FAIL!

    Enchantress = Ahmanet?
    I have noticed that too. But the personalities are significantly different from one another. Also, while Enchantress was hot, Ahmanet was even hotter!
    Suicide Squad was so vulgar, so overkill, it is no wonder it tanked at the box-office, even though it was more intense with its ensemble cast.
    The Mummy 2017 made $409,000,000 worldwide. So I guess we know which is going to have a sequel.
    But I get confused, I thought Harley Quinn was played by Jaime Pressely and Enchantress was played by Margot Robbie~? In the post post credits Harley was played by Margot Robbie!

    this movie was a let down. honestly horrible casting distracted from the quality of the film. Tom Cruise is not impressionable at all. This isn't even a biased comment, it's a logical one. He can't even look like a different person other than himself & in acting that's a turn off. You should never be content or happy bring yourself in every movie. Hie lines were dry, they definitely felt unauthentic. The only interesting things from this movie were in fact only Russell Crowe & Sofia Boutella. That's it, they need to ditch Tom as The Mummy & bring back Sofia somehow in that role moving foward.

      I agree entirely! Tom Cruise's obsessive control over this production is the cause of most of its shoretcommings
