    The Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant is the hottest new flight simulator product on the market, with realistic controls and a huge variety of options. In this hands-on video, Sporty's flight sim expert Chris McGonegle (also a Commercial pilot) reviews the Bravo and shows how to change from general aviation to airline levers in just seconds.
    The Bravo Throttle Quadrant is an all-in-one cockpit system featuring a fully configurable throttle setup. Six general aviation and six commercial levers are included and can be arranged from single-engine general aviation all the way up to four-engine commercial aircraft. The commercial levers include flaps, spoilers, and functional thrust reversers while the general aviation levers include power, prop, and mixture and can engage thrust revers for turboprops as well. The throttle also features multiple cockpit components including an autopilot panel with backlit buttons, annunciator panel with 14 warning lights, Gear Lever with landing gear indicator lights, general aviation flap lever, and a trim wheel. The throttle also comes with our dual mounting system which includes two heavy-duty steel clamps and a large 3M Micro-Suction pad that can be used as a clamp-free solution. The Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant was designed to ensure the most versatile flight simulation experience possible.
    Features:
    - Six Commercial Levers with flaps, spoilers, and functional thrust reversers
    - Six General Aviation Levers with Functional TOGA Button for multiple aircraft configurations
    - Annunciator Panel with 7 two-way programmable switches and 14 Warning Lights
    - General Aviation Flap Lever
    - Autopilot with Backlit Buttons
    - Adjustable Lever Tension
    - Gear Lever with Red/Green LED Landing Gear Indicator Lights
    - Trim Wheel

    I love that i am not the only one who went for the keyboard on top, actually slapped two velcro strips on the bottom of the keyboard and on the top of the yoke base, so even if i click the ends protruding the base, it wont shake or fall off. it is rock solid to type on now and very comfortable

    I figured out a trick with the Honeycomb yoke when flying a Cirrus and other planes with a side stick. I just mount my yoke to the left of me so the right side of the yoke is just left of my left hand. This simulated a cirrus side stick flying from the left seat

    The drivers for the LEDs are not though out very well if you have the steam version of FS2020 and it's installed on anything becides the C: drive you will have a lot of fun getting it to work, the installer is not smart enough to correctly find the installation folder or even ask where you have FS installed. This is one of my grips amongst a few other bugs I don't think should be a issue at this price point.

    Is there a quick way to change the binding of the controls or each time you change something it'll be a tedious task of changing every lever's fonction 1 by 1 ?

    I haven't managed to get those detents to work. They show up as buttons rather than continuations of each lever's axis, and mapping the appropriate function to each detent range does nothing.

    Redbird is 10X more realistic! Just picked up from Sporty’s last week. Made this one feel like a toy.

    • @birreboi
      @birreboi Před 3 lety +7

      @Advanced Aircraft Sales Well Redbird may, as you state, be more realistic, but they are around twice as expensive as the Honeycomb. As has been pointed out by many, the Honeycomb yoke and this throttle quadrant is more or less priced in the 'middle' of the market. Not cheap trash nor bloody expensive items that a lot of simulator fans wouldn't be able to afford (like me!).

    • @advancedaircraft
      @advancedaircraft Před 3 lety +1

      @@birreboi Sure I get it! I had to make a long term decision on the level of investment I was willing to make.
      I plan on using this as a tool for over the next decade to train at home when not being able to fly. I've bought three flight sim yokes over the last twenty years, and they were all terrible, and ended up going away. For just $400.00 more, 1000's of hours, years and years of enjoyment it was worth the extra $400.00 over 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 years or so. My only hesitation would it live up to the additional investment, and when I first opened the box there was no comparison. Flying the Redbird YK1 also felt just like flying the real aircraft. Get what you can afford, but those that can swing the extra, and serious about training I highly recommend the Redbird products.

      @@advancedaircraft I don't know if you realize or not (I don't think you do), but you're acting as if a $400.00 price jump for one piece of simulation equipment is justifiable for most people. It is not, especially in today's economy.
      Honeycomb's products are superior to CH and Logitech products for almost the same price. But, thanks to you and a few others, Redbird can stay afloat with their overpriced products.

    A great review of a great product. Too bad the folks at honeycomb don't have business sense that matches product development. Constant excuses for delay after delay but a lot of units available for review after review. Of course the plandemic is the latest excuse, but remember alpha. The same supply issues plagued that product too. Unfortunately there is no competition for this item, so no hurry or urgency to get it out to the consumer. Very bad business decisions will lead to the demise of yet another flight sim hardware producer.
