This is only reinforcing my stance: Buy audio from audio companies. I've got some vintage bookshelf speakers with a Lepai amp, and an Audio Technica headset. I trust them all to give me proper sound, more than a company that makes keyboards, mice, cases, RAM, SSDs, PSUs, and toasters deciding they want their fingers in yet another market.
For 230 pounds/euros etc. you could get (for example) some really good Edifier/Mackie/Presonus/Klipsch speakers, self powered ofc. These ones (NZXT) from what I saw, they don't have optical/TRS connections, only RCA, no manual knobs for adjusting the sound etc. I fail to see how are they gonna sell those for that price.
Please noone buy audio products from gaming oriented companies. You will get much more value out of established brands like NAD, denon, bowers & wilkins, schiit, sennheiser and so on.
Great Review Tom, straight to the point good points and bad. I personally Still use a Creative Soundworks / Soundlabs 5.1 system I bought 20 years ago and still works to this day that would blow this out of the water. They dont make them like they use to anymore..
It's a nice package let down by an underwhelming bass delivery... what a shame. Hopefully NZXT come back with an updated sub in the next iteration. Loving the white aesthetic, very clean and sharp look. I think I'll stick with my years old Razer soundbar and Sennheiser headset for now. Another great review mate!
You reviewed the tannoys 150.000 years ago. That brought me onto the path to studio monitors. Now I own a Adam Sub7 and Focal twins. Forget NZXT, get Sound from Sound companies. You won't buy a Refrigerator from Mercedes either.
@@OC3D True, yet we are talking about ~ 400€ for the speakers and the sub. You can get a pair of Tannoy Reveal 802 for that money and they are easy to setup, too. Or Tannoy Reveal 502 with a Swissonic Sub10 on top for a bit more money. I rocked that setup for years and the sound was really really good. I still stand by my point: I we are talking 150€+, get your sound from a sound company.
I wonder how they compare to say the Edifer S350bd's which cost less for 2 speakers and a sub? Seems like a product aimed at NZXT fans and/or those looking for a headphone stand with a built in switch and cheap mixer.
4:38 Small cheap subwoofer cant play very low or loud unfortunately, it's just there because the satellite speakers don't have much bass. The sub could possibly sound better if it's placed somewhere else in the room
My Bowers & Wilkins sub is smaller in volume than that one, but it gives me all the bass I'd ever want at a level nowhere near max (driven by a seperate amp).
Got your ring back on Guv or an older recording? The idea behind this is good just seems a bit poorly implemented for the price, would be interesting to revisit it after a revision or two.
The headphone stand specifically is rather astonishing that nobody has done this yet. Really innovative.
Thanks for the review! 💜

thanks for the review. I have been considering these over my Logitech Z625s. You def changed my mind
I was curious about the speakers but they are too expensive considering the competition at that price point.

those speakers better sound amazing because they're entering actual speaker territory with those prices.
will the switchmix work with a wireless headphones like an arctis pro pwireless?

Love this review, quite keen on this

Thoses speakers are kanto yu2 and audioengine a2+ competitor but i will not go with nzxt. The quality doesnt look great on the nzxt.
They do look very similar dont they
I still have the micro lab solo 9c's that you reviewed many years a go. :)
Me too in my front room connected to my TV!

back on - but waiting for a thinner one to arrive. this is hurting me again already lol
@@OC3D LOL!
They look nice but you can definitely get something better for that price.
All I want is a preferably white wireless gaming headset with a retractable MIC, charging dock. Why do office nerds get it but gaming nerds don't?
Will these catch fire too?
Sub won't that's for sure 😂😂😂
70 watts LOL that's really sad... if you dyno it I bet it's not even hitting that at under .9% THD
They should have bought the rights to Corsair's SP2600 series.
next in line nzxt will make laptops
