Don't get me wrong, there's good mainstream music, but it's just the fact most people don't even know such stuff exist or in worst cases are prejudice to these styles.

clicked on the thumbnail expecting black metal. ten minutes in, i'm thinking "this is a long intro". fifteen minutes in, i'm thinking "oh, this isn't black metal". twenty minutes in, i'm thinking "this is better than black metal".

That’s because it’s not darkwave. I personally don’t listen to much dark ambient, so I wouldn’t know. lol. But I love darkwave.
This is what they call "neoclassical darkwave", not really darkwave in the gothic type of thing.

It's not dungeon synth, it's not dark wave, it's not dark ambient. It's not DARK. It's ethereal wave/neoclassical (dark) wave.

1. It is dark ambient, even if not plain dark ambient - this IS dark (saw you change your mind though in the second comment XD). DS first release is plain dark ambient to btw. 2. This is not pure ethereal wave either. but rather neoclassical/gothic. The uploader did not write dungen synth anywhere in the description, he wrote just the right one: Neoclassical, Darkwave, Dark Ambient. Although regarding dark wave it is confusing. It still fits into the channel.
