Love how you point out what you hear. Autotune isn’t illegal, we all hear it and we know that they can sing live. I feel like people are afraid to even use the word “autotune”, it’s okay to admit that they use it? 💜
Agreed! I couldn't have put it better myself. Yes autotuned was used in this song, but like you said we all know that they can actually sing.

@@bbh9205 This is not true imao jk is the main vocalist because he has the most stable voice and it has been proven many times live. Also there are videos of the member singing without a mic there's even a videos of jk singing songs for 20 minutes of the group and his they have great vocals and sound like their songs even if they use autotune sometimes in the studio you sound like a hater also their concerts are live and you can really hear their voices in those performances so you should check out those they use a backtrack usually for the dancing but you can still hear their voices especially when it comes to the high notes in their songs they usually always do those in concert there are many videos to see of that stop being negative.

IF you are referring to Jimin's voice change at 5:17 as being a sort of autotune effect, it's just part of his natural unique voice which he sometimes shows live on multiple performances when singing any of their songs! 😊 But yea of course some autotune is used to refine the vocals in general haha
yeah, it's his signature! it's a yodel-type sound and usually when he uses it at the end of phrases it's more noticeable, but tbh he does use it in the middle of lines too e.g. at 1:38 for the word "colder". i can easily replicate the effect with my own voice, and it doesn't sound like autotune has been used to create the effect. of course, i'm not in denial that bts has been using autotune more recently and it can be either good or bad depending on how we percieve it.
Pleasee react to live performance of this song! Its removed from all the autotune n u can hear their real clear beautiful voices! Also the performance is so enjoyable!
Yes those voice your here like yeaheebis junglooks voice and I am super impressed with him because when they sing live u cant barely notice the difference from the original one his vocals is what u call amazingly impressively gloriously the best in my opinion

The main person who does the backing vocals I'm pretty sure is jungkook, but all members do hidden vocals though. Also in some songs other people that aren't in BTS also have vocals in some of the songs lol

I saw them in concert for the first time in April. My wife and daughter had been to a few shows already. I’m an alternative/rock guy but I absolutely love these guys and all of their songs and what they stand for.

@@purpleantidote6120 that in black swan would be used for the purpose of artistic element since it connects to the meaning, stylistically here in ptd means just to add a different vibe to the vocals without covering them up.

Everyone is great! And yes for jungkooks adlibs and bg. He is insane vocal range is diverse.
My most favorite part was all of Jungkook's ad-libs towards the end. He added so much flavors with those ad-libs.
I'm loving the cowboy/country style they have going on and I'm also giving props to the stylist noonas for styling them this way and also props o to the people in the MV as you could see they were clearly havin fun.
I'm loving the beat and the line " I don't need permission to dance" will be stuck in my head for ever and always now, also it's such and iconic line and is up there with " Get it, Let it roll".
I'm also loving the beat of the music as it'd so happy and upbeat and really summery, it also makes me wanna smile just seeing them have fun.
The choreo is so groovy and makes me wanna dance and I just wanna groove with it also as there isn't really that much choreo it's really easy to dance too.
I love their MV as it shows the boys having fun with eachother and other people also the vocals are as amazing as ever, I especially love yoongis vocals as he really can sing, and it makes me wanna sing along.
It all being English aswell also makes it their 3rd all English song and this one is just as catch as Dynamite and Butter.
Also I love the message behind the song ad it basically says no matter what or where you are if you here music you love just dance along to it as you don't need permission to dance and have fun.
Us armys are getting so spoilt on our birthday and o just love the guys so much and you can clearly see how much they love us back k by just seeing how hard they work and how they care about us.
You'll never get another band like BTS who love their fans so much and who works so hard for them.

I really like Permission To Dance and it's message. I like how they play with the references of their own and other stuffs. This is fun and it is such a mood maker. As you have said, there's tuning but I found it just fine. I like the runs executed there and their bright vibe just affect me so positively. Love lots miss Rebecca! Borahae💜

I'm a HUGE BTS fan but I recently found a group called stray kids. That has a member named felix with such a bass deep voice when singing but can also go higher. His deep voice really amazed me I wish you could hear him

Thank you for mentioning the 1970s and the strings. This song is a real nod to the Sound of Philadelphia, or Philly Soul (as it used to be called). Elton John used that sound in his Philadelpia Freedom song. No one else has recognized this in their comments about PTD. Good for you!!

The autotune is basically just a stylistic choice from them and kinda iconic. They've started using it more ever since dynamite. Love it tho
It's not a choice by them, they didn't take part in the composing.

And the behind the scenes we've seen shows the members listening to their in-house team work and giving input, even on the older albums. Do you really think anything is published without the guys having a tell?

The messeage of this song is beautiful and it fills you wiyh possitive vibes. As you said, they keep working a lot on their vocals. For me there were 2 specific things that surprised me the most, first was hearing the rap line singing the whole song; their voices are so soulful and mix sooo well with teh voices of the vocal line.
Second thing, Jimin and Jungkook. Jungkook as always amaze me with his cleared voice, adlibs and his perfect pitch. Jimin, in the other hand, for me at least, he had a HUGE growth lately. He usually does just the mellody but here (and a bit in Butter too) you can hear him doing the harmonies and those crazy riffs. He always says he needs to work harder and harder on his tecnic and i think all that hard work is paying off (you can check out their live performance of Film Out, the vocals are amazing)
Anyway, about the autotune. Yes! There's a bit too much for some parts but here's a kind of ¿explanation? well, someone's explanation for it (twitter.com/hoseokmymuse/status/1413530763815841797). But they already did a perfomance of this song for Naver Now so you can check their live vocals there. :)
