    Many people still don't see it. Edmonton does have the edge. Even though a head to head match up in the playoffs is a unique situation, the fact still remains that *Knoblauch's* *Oilers* performed better across several metrics. They achieved a higher points percentage, goal differential, and clearly dominate with special teams.

      I agree, the big factors Dallas has advantages in are goaltending , 5v5 and GA/G. The Oilers gotta match Dallas in terms of 5v5 play and suppress shots BUT also gotta forecheck harder and get a ton of shots on net, preferably medium to high danger kind snd possibly draw calls against Dallas with their speed against the older vets on their squad. Easier said than done, but we just did that for mostly 2 games in a row against a dangerous and competitive Canucks team.

    • @theoilersadvocate3130
      @theoilersadvocate3130 Před 24 dny +3

      @@jordacheamistad3748 I agree that Dallas has better goaltending, and a more balanced 5v5 (of course nearly every game will include some very consequential special teams battles), but they do not have a better GA/G. Again, I refer here to Knoblauch's Oilers. I do not count the results from the first 13 games of the regular season because they do not represent the capabilities of the current team. When the GA of the remaining 69 games are extrapolated to 82 games (*edit, sorry that was redundant), the projected GA/G is actually less than Dallas'. It's also interesting to note that Edmonton takes slightly more shots per game than Dallas, but allows the same number of shots against per game, even when considering the whole original 82. I can see they are already on track for another successful series. (*edit there is also an extrapolated goal differential of *+86* for the Oilers over the full 82)

      @@theoilersadvocate3130 I didn't account for the first part of the season before American Thanksgiving, so that is my bad. I want very badly for the Oilers to win. Deep down I feel they are being underestimated by the mainstream media, which bodes well for us. Everyone is talking about about the depth of Dallas. Edmonton is a 2 superstar team according to most ppl. But you watch how we play. We are definitely not that. I also think ppl believe we had the easiest path to the conference final. Look at LA and Van. They were probably 2 of the best defensive teams all season with LA having one of the best PKs all year. We torched them all series. We torched Van until everyone got sick and also the PK somewhat adjusted. We are looking at Bouchard, Nuge and Holloway possibly becoming bigger contributors than ever before. And Henrique is gonna drop in soon. With our guys not being 100%against the Canucks and the Stars showing a lot of what they are capable of against Colorado, this could be a good setup for a poker match for games 1 and 2.

    As a die-hard Oilers fan, it pains me to say this, but if we want to clinch the Cup, tough decisions are necessary. Stuart Skinner has given his all, but the pressure of the playoffs is overwhelming. He has allowed too many soft goals, which can be costly in high-stakes games. A change in net might bring fresh energy and perspective to the team. For the sake of our championship hopes, it might be time to give someone else a chance.
