I probably never will change my seats, but I love learning about my 987 and watching your videos.

hi again, Cliff. wanted to thank you again for recommending the RRX seats. I just bought a pair for my 350Z with the stealthy 5th slot and love them! I'm planning on getting the same seats for my Z3 and my Cayman. although I'm 6 ft and the 350Z seats are a bit too tall for comfort. I'm wondering if they sit much higher in the Cayman as well? I guess I'll find out.

They sit basically the same or slightly lower than the stock seats on their lowest setting. Initially I put 1.25" spacers to raise the seat but eventually took them back out after a few months because my helmet felt uncomfortably close to the headliner. After several more track weekends I feel like they're just a bit too low for comfort so I may go back in with some 0.5" spacers on the driver's side only, leaving as much headroom as possible for passengers. Removing the headliner also helped a lot with the driver headroom issue.

oh nice! I have Corbeau Sportline RRS seats in my 350Z which are similar. I love them but was thinking maybe going to Recaros for the Cayman. That's just vanity, though. Might just stick with Corbeaus again.

tbh, if price were no object there was a set of Recaros I really really liked. Don't recall exactly what they were, but the price was about 3x the Corbeaus and Recaro wasn't interested in giving me a break.

@@CliffsGarage it's probably the Sportline GTs which come in a gorgeous leather with carbon fiber accent or vinyl with several highlight color options. I've had my eye on those ever since my 2011 GT500 which I sold. but I found that Corbeau has a gorgeous seat with white vinyl that would match my white Cayman beautifully. and the seat has a black pattern on the rear so it would still somewhat match the black leather interior.

Hi, I asked you a few times already but do you have a factory manual for these tasks you could recommend?

  • @DarylSiefert

Do you need to do anything with factory plug to keep air bag warning lights from going off

You can use a tool like PIWIS or DuraMetric to code out the warning. Apparently, however, you need to do it _before_ removing the seats. I didn't and haven't had the gumption to swap the old seats back in.
