Got hold of a few rolls and took these to the local temple in Nadi Fiji amazing colours . Just use it like slide film best with the light behind. Loves water in the shots. I will try to send a pic or two when I work out how!
I had one roll of CM you sent me and I liked it a lot. Would love to have this film openly available. I also use Adox Rodinal for BW developing and it is really good and relatively cheap 😌
Yess!! It would be nice to see it more places over here now 😊 and rodinal is so cheap it's great!
Big fan of CM, I should probably try pulling a roll. Really nice colour palate and it was the perfect film for the last time I went home to Kent! Super excited for Helios, I'm honestly DYING waiting for it!
Yesssss!! I'd love to see how it looks pulled, the colors are so so nice l, it would be a regular shooter for me if it was still made...RIP but yes Helios will be super cool to play with when it comes out!

Nice vid. I think I missed the boat on Color Mission. Too bad, I like their CHS 100 and want them to do well.

I think Adox has issues to produce large amounts of film like Harman can do. So they don't go publicly world wide with they new products just to keep sales limited so that Adox can produce amount that gets sold. Anyways, I really like the color mission, I really hope it would be available in local store in my country Latvia. Right now I have ordered just three rolls of color mission and I have shot two. I'm really happy with the results I got so I hope to buy some more of this film.
That's a good point! although I'm not sure the size difference and capacity between the two companys factories, but that could be why they limit the scope/range. Glad to hear you like the film though, it is awesome. and great that you were able to get some!!
ISO 3?? Sounds interesting but handheld photography is out, I guess.

Yeah it'd be nice if the color was! But I'm sure they have a good reason

I had high expectations regarding the Color Mission, but my results turned out rather disappointing, I have to say. Especially the grain was heavy for a 200 ISO film. Hope, the Helios is better. 🙏🏻

@@Eclectachrome Let’s say, I like low grain. 😅 That mostly comes with a low ISO as well, which I don’t mind, coz I mostly use film in sunny weather, also because of the better colors then.
But what I found out is, that all these new color films do have heavy grain. More, than they should at their ISO. If I see „good classic“ films like Velvia, Portra or Ektar in comparison, the quality is so much better, even their ISO is not that super low. As for an example, a Portra 400 has lower grain than a Color Mission 200, I would say.
Were the films developed in Portugal and Poland etc during your visits or were they taken home for development. Interesting to find out if any airport x-rays affected the film.
So the Poland films were developed in Prague! And Portugal I took home flying, the Tenerife ones I also took home! Lina Bessanova just released a killer video on xrays if you want probably the best video on that!!
@@Eclectachrome yes I saw Lina’s video and indeed read her report online. So the Tenerife and Portugal films faced potential killer x-rays. We’re you able to hand check them to avoid that or if not do you feel the films suffered in any quality way ?
I always try to ask for a hand check but in those places they said no, the only airports that happily hand checked my film was Boston Logan! Across the UK and Europe, nobody would hand check so I used to use my lead lined DOMKE bag hoping for some level of protection. Most of the time I travel with lower ISO films so they seem to be okay, maybe some added "grain" but that's all I've seen for me! @@monochromebluess
@@Eclectachrome Airports need film educating !! The lower ISO film stick is certainly a way to go. Downside with the lead bags are often that because the operator can’t clearly inside they bang it through the death X ray machine for a second or third time. Boston here I come !

The Color Misson shots are warm and have 'solid' colors (like the blue in the sky) -- but definitely not that 'Kodak' look. Cool -- is it a Kodak cine film or is it the Aerocolor film? Helios looks *HOT* -- like 'Heat Miser' hot!!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵
It's neither! It's Its own film 😁😁😁 hahah 'whatever I touch, starts to melt in my clutch'!! One of the greatest movies of all time 😊😁

@@phillipbanes5484 -- Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Grew up shooting Kodak -- color negatives, Kodachrome and Ektachrome. Even the modern *still* camera offerings are different than Fuji, or the other few color competitors. You cannot say that ColorPlus 200, Ektar 100, UltraMax 400, ProImage 100 and the Portra line are indistinguishable from other manufacturers color negative film -- at least they are definitely different to me....
From what I've shot, there's definitely a lean into the warmer tones from Kodak and cooler tones from Fuji, so I would say there is a certain 'look' to Kodak films versus Fuji on average, but than again this is impacted by many different factors in the process, and yes there are different film stocks produced by both that would differ but overall there does seem to be a characteristic of each manufacturer! @@phillipbanes5484
