Chiwetel Ejiofor plays a great villain. He's just a great actor period. Doesn't get enough credit.
For everyone wanting a series or sequel, Netflix has already signed all the cast for a second movie and the whole story is based on a graphic novel that had 4 volumes so hopefully at least 4 movies!

I thought the movie was great. Great story, great fight scenes and great acting - except for one... I really thought the African girl didn't act well. I felt the writing of character could have been much much better as well. Every time she acted arrogant or bigger than the plot made me cringe so bad lols - it just didn't fit in well.

On a serious note, I do love theatre experiences , the designs, smell of popcorn etc. In Tampa we have a historic one that’s Awesome. However, let’s face it, theaters will probably be like Video rental stores. Home entertainment setups have come a long way, going to a movie is expensive, and Covid isn’t helping the mass gathering aspect. Netflix has hollywood budget films I can watch in my comfortable living room. :(

Yes, powerful, bad ass, but conflicted, imperfect, does not always do the right thing, self doubting, knows she needs her team.....Andy was not a Mary Sue. I was a little worried they were going to go that route with Nile,. but was relieved they restrained themselves with her and she, like the others, needed help...that was the best part, this was a team.
Yaas! It's just an action movie with leads who happen to be women. No gendered costumes or forced love subplot.

It was mind blowing when they mentioned that being a prisoner would be the worst. Not because you’re imprisoned, but because if you never escape, you’ll live forever in a cage. You could starve, be tortured, be murdered, become psychotic, and you would just keep living.

Forever is a long time to escape but when you escape the revenge would be so sweet I guess.
Prison couldn't last forever anyway, just as the underwater cage would oxidize.

It was a great movie and they left it open for a sequel. Actors were amazing and it was well-written.
I just start watching this show on July 12, 2020.
I just notice 3 major flaw.
I'm at the part where Andy and her friend Quynh got imprisoned. What went through my mind was how they got capture by the Englishmen with torches and sticks?
They have no problems skillfully killing a group of Mongols with sword and arrows, but the show won't explain how they got capture by people using torchds and stick.
And then, there is the undead thing. Why won't the Englishmen just decapitate prisoners? Why drown them?
And finally, why won't Quynh fight when the prison guard unlocked her handcuff from the wall chain?
She just magically teleport into the iron maiden with zero resistance.
Anyway, enough of my ranting. Time to get back to the show. Maybe they'll explain why they got captured later on.

A surprisingly great movie. They delved into their abilities and the world more than I expected from an action film, which was great, and all the characters in the main group meshed really well together! They also had strong female leads that didn’t feel forced.
Not just strong female leads: emotional male leads. Holy crap, the fact that the heart of the team was the duo of Joe and Nicky was perfection. Andy, Booker, Nile, they all had each other, sure. But they were otherwise good on their own. Joe and Nicky’s bond was a fire that kept the whole team going - otherwise you’d have a group of immortal beings whose only emotions were jaded and frustrated. The tenderness and care they displayed affected the rest of the team, and it was beautiful to see.
When they started kissing making all the hit team uncomfortable 🤣🤣

I just saw this last night, wasn't expecting much, but it was excellent. The action was amazing, the characters felt real and not cardboard cut outs, there was some good laughs among the violence, and also some real emotion. Charlize Theron continues to blow me away in bad ass roles. Andy was a complex and tormented character, and the supporting cast were all good in their parts. The ending was a great cliffhanger, hope there's a second one.

Joe and Nicky were so cute! I need a whole movie about their 1000-year-old romance told from the very beginning when they first met during the First Crusade. There's a lot of story to unpack there and I'd do anything to see Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli's beautiful faces again. ❤

not a single dull moment in the movie, beautifully executed, amazing pacing. I haven't seen charlize theron's other films but I've heard the name, I was not expecting this. Absolutely nailed the role, the choreography was very eye pleasing, can definitely see the john wick effect in most modern action movie scenes, this was no exception and that's a good thing. Plus the axe was amazing, I wish there were more scenes with the axe though. Would love a sequel with the all the characters in the first one.
