I feel I'm the only person in the United States that knows who this guy is. Django lead me here. I've never seen a better musician. It's not just because he's a great guitar player because he is but the emotion is amazing. I'm trying to get the word out🎸
Jean Marc Robin is the greatest! Just look at that big idiotic smile on his face while he's totally enjoying himself. He can't stop smiling, that's how powerful the music is. Such a snappy drummer, perfect fit for Bireli's explosive style. A killer band, if there ever was one! Of course, Bireli is blowing everyone's mind, but let's not neglect the amazing musicianship by all the players here.
Benson-Lagrene: It's one of my dreams for a long time !!! They have in common an organic way of playing. But I wish you one day to see Bireli play with Sylvain Luc: We enter a musical universe "stratospheric"! I must admit that it is a great pride to have in France, after Reinhardt, these two sacred monsters! But I really admire, in radically different styles, for the creativity of Pat Metheny or the subtlety of Julian Lage ...
+Human Centipede Head Segment IMO he's the most intimidating guitarist, certainly, with greater depth and improvisional ability than most. Makes us all want to throw our guitars in the dumpster haha!
I can parse Bireli and Pat Martino, as scary monsters as they really are. But I cannot for the life of me parse Sylvain Luc. He may be the most advanced guitar player to ever walk among us. Talk about a riddle wrapped in mystery! How is Sylvain doing it?
Haha I checked out 2009 Concert Solo Sylvain Luc 1/2 and I believe that's Nardis he's playing, I've definitely never seen a guitarist play it quite like that!!
I wonder if he and Benson ever crossed paths. I've seen all of Benson's CZcams videos I don't think he's ever mentioned Brieli. His jazz approach is outstanding just like Benson. Benson is rarely matched but this guy is his equal in jazz but he leaves Benson behind with his fusion, Shredding and gypsy styles. This guy is a wonder to behold.
Bireli could assemble a metal band today and make it a huge success. He can do it all. 10:48, seems like he's about to quote the godfather but thinks, "errrm, better not"
I love how he's playing a $600 Yamaha Pacifica. A man of the people.
technique > gear
Its not about the pedigree its about the feeling and the playability brother.
He also sometimes plays the 400 euros one, but with a Prail on the bridge and trem bridge mods. A true man of the people indeed.
Fantastic musicians; all of them. Really exceptional music and playing. You're my hero, Biréli!
Bireli toujours aussi bon et humble.

You're not the ONLY one! You and me make two.
I’m a big fan of king bireli. I’m from China btw
Agreed! And he is still ALIVE!!!
Did you know that he played with the great Jaco Pastorius. It's on CZcams

Excellent !!!
Bireli and George Benson are the greatest! It's a pity they haven't played together, especially at George's prime.

they have played together
The sax player is very Mike Brecker influenced for sure. Great player
Invite F. Gambale pour le solo de "mouvements" on va se régaler !
aww man, look at the way he plays that guitar on the first number
"Mouvement" est vraiment génial!
ho yeah baby! cette version de place du tertre déchire!
musical genius... the best jazz\fusion guitarist alive, maybe best ever to date.
thanks for the great quality video :)
+Human Centipede Head Segment IMO he's the most intimidating guitarist, certainly, with greater depth and improvisional ability than most. Makes us all want to throw our guitars in the dumpster haha!
+James Anderson Him and Pat Martino in particular I find among the most intimidating players out there!

Yeah, I feel like that about Allan Holdsworth!

They played together actually ! I think at the international jazz day
@@will7816 I think you right there is a short video of him playing Benson's "On Broadway" with other artists.

Indeed!
yeah

That's a "Real gone Cat" there Daddy-O....
Reminiscent of early Benson recordings.
What's the name of that last song? That was so damn good, it make me physically ill. Too much. What a talent....
Place du Tertre.
Awesome title NPjazz!! You are right, he really is the best :)
What year is this from? Just curious
Szoszko gitar?
whats wrong with the film editing of the last song?
"Un peu difficile à jouer" xD "Mouvement "c'est la tendinite à coup sûr :p
