  • Thanks for watching another RC MUSTSEE crawling film. If anyone is interested, I scored 85 out of a possible 140pts, George (black bronco) scored a 90, Alan (green power wagon) scored a 60 and Steve (his first time competing) got a 5. We will be back!

    Nice TRX4 bro. You just helped me to pull the trigger on both over and under drive gear sets for my 2021 Bronco. Video coming soon on my channel. Thank you so much brother.

    Take the front and rear bumpers off plus the side rails and move everything up in the battery part.. this will allow better access and angles to crawl for comp...

    When decending down a hill you got to be careful while having the upgrade you will have your rigs front end pulled over front right underneath you causing you to indo into a front flip. Also when side trailing it will hard cause the rig will want to pull to the side making it hard to keep a straight line. Overall pretty good upgrade

    nice. Building my first TRX-4 now and might do a front overdrive later. for now I want to focus on upgraded tires and also steering servos. went ahead and ordred the metal servo horn since the plastic one just doesn't inspire much confidence. Happy Holidays! 🎄

    Which you think would be more efficient, 12T/33T or 13T/33T front overdrive?

  • @CrawlingChrisNorthGermany

    Nice Video, nice Track. I have installed my overdrive yesterday. I am pretty suprised how my TRX 4 runs with the kit.

    Can the under-drive for the rear also fit the front axle? I'd like to under-drive front & rear both. Lower drive train ratio with slightly higher spur gear ratio would improve smoothness in my theory lol. Plus it would reduce stress on the transmission, drive shafts to the trans, motor, and esc.

    Your standard battery tray is so high. Change that to low cg battery tray. It makes tonnes of difference

      @rcmustsee437  Před 4 lety +1

      def on the list of things to get but the battery i use is such a feather weight that it won't make that big of a difference for me.

    • @wzpu3283
      @wzpu3283 Před 4 lety +3

      @@rcmustsee437 yes, but moving the "featherweight" down will still help lower the center of mass of the vehicle.

    Nice video looked like a good time. you didn't feel like you had to much front wheel spin having done both front & rear upgrades? it almost looked at times like that the forward throttle was a bit strong maybe not as smooth as one would like? (obviously its a video Im not there in person just going off what it looks like on my cellphone. you still Happy w/ both front & rear thats the way to go ? Thanks Brother

    Like you're video, but wish your camera guy would have stayed with your truck a little more so I could see how the over and under drive gearing worked. Keep on rocking the crawler. Thair my favorite waist on money and time. But who cares like you said.

    Do you know if the underdrive gears increase your torque? I'm trying to make my trx has as much torqu as possible.

    • @rcmustsee437
      @rcmustsee437  Před 3 lety +1

      yes, using under drive will give more torque but less speed

  • @leonardpascual8211
    @leonardpascual8211 Před 4 lety

    will it have a difference on the performance on the 2 speed trx4? can it still be used for a little speed or just for crawling only

    • @rcmustsee437
      @rcmustsee437  Před 4 lety

      it will change the performance of the truck no matter what gear you run it in. i wouldn't recommend it for general trail use, its more for the very tight competition style crawling we did in the video.

    • @macp349
      @macp349 Před 4 lety

      Would probably be an expensive way to go about it, but two of those overdrive gear set (front and rear) would make the truck a little bit faster, right?

    I don’t get why people would spend so much money on a brushed setup when a good sensored brushless system isn’t that much more. Holmes hobbies sells some brushes motors that are more expensive than their puller pro series. $120 for a brushed puller and $110 for their torque master esc... whereas the puller pro is $95 and mamba x esc are $145 right now. So $10 more gets a really awesome brushless setup...

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain Před 4 lety

      NJ RC Crawling not really. It might start up smoother but it’s not going to give more performance. That would imply that the BL motor is so harsh that it loses traction. No load my motors can be a little jerky as they want to get to the rpm for their startup voltage, but they’re buttery smooth under load when it counts. There is a point of diminishing returns.
      And BL is more power dense and efficient than brushed.

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain Před 4 lety +1

      @NJ RC Crawling That's basically my understanding. It's like carb vs fuel injection. Some people love the mechanical predictiveness of a carb, but now brushless has moved on to greater control technology such as fuel injections higher resolution controllers with multi port operation.
      .
      I understand that current brushless is still smoother with more finite modulation, but the gap has shrunk so much I just don't see any real performance benefit. Especially when the brushless system is tuned well, because it's a night a day difference using my exact setup with my throttle mapping and aux setting vs generic settings.

      @NJ RC Crawling Axe FOc is the best, believe me.

    Funny thing. You are doing the opposite of every one else. You want thinner oil in the front, not the rear.
    And you want some brass in the rear to, so you’re truck doesn’t front flip on decent like in your video.
    And if you are going after performance, then loose that top heavy body.

    • @rcmustsee437
      @rcmustsee437  Před 3 lety

      yoda dk I did end up putting much thicker oil in the rear. This video was a bit of an experiment. or just one step in a progression. And again not putting brass in the rear was a departure from my previous TRX4. You can check that out in some of my earlier crawling videos. cheers.
