I'm watching this video from Japan.
I had no idea what to do with English poetry, which was a foreign language for me, especially Shakespeare's sonnets, which seemed to be one of the major foundations of English poetry.
After listening to your story, I was able to have a guideline.
I found it very refreshing to see poetry as a mirror that reflects itself.

Very inspiring introduction to Sonnets, thank you! Teachers and critics argue that Shakespeare wrote sonnets to two people - a friend and his girlfriend. Not knowing this fact, after reading sonnet 27, I thought that the author was talking to God. Sonnet 27 is my favorite...

Thank you for inspiring my reading life Ben. I'm eager to begin my first reading of anything from the Bard. I'll start with the sonnets.

Your channel is almost too good to be true. You give the most valuable information to people who may not be as educated or have attended a good university. You give all this knowledge free, don’t ask us for any money or include adverts to flog us things. Keep doing what you’re doing because the service you are offering is invaluable. Bestest Wishes

Hi, Ben - hope all is well! Just been (re) watching your three sonnets videos back-to-back... Very inspiring - having just finished a deep read of Ulysses, I'm freed up and ready to take a deep plunge into these awaiting gems... Cheers!

Hey Ben! I had a question. I just listened to your Podcast on "How to read Shakespeare in a year, in that Podcast you mentioned the individual Arden Editions not the complete works. I'm having a hard time locating the individual editions with a search, I keep finding the Complete Works.

Hey Todd :) Roughly halfway down the page of this article, I've linked out to the individual Arden editions for each of the plays: benjaminmcevoy.com/read-complete-works-shakespeare-year-recommended-reading-order/ I hope that helps! Happy Barding! :)
