  • A beautiful village women has incredible skill to make bamboo basket. She make everyday 5 to 6 pieces bamboo basket to support her family and mad husband. She sell her basket 150=200 (2-2.50 USD) BDT per pieces based on size.
    After marriage she got 3 children with her husband and then her husband had a disease and he is now mad. So she wanted to run her family and want to bought her husband medicine. Then she started her husband job to build nice bamboo basket. And I think this is feminism and women empowerment.
    Now she is very expert and make daily basket to run her family. She work 7 days per week and 30 days per month to run her family smoothly. So we called her and ask her make a basket for her and want to show her skill to world. She was agreed and make one for us.
    Hope you enjoy the video. Thank you very much for watching our videos. You can like our facebook page AroundMeBD to see some unseen picture of daily event.

    It’s better to edit the title the term mad is offensive, show some understanding to the people with mental health illnesses

    • @gm6719
      @gm6719 Před 3 lety

      @rfarose stop pushing your religion, we don’t care about the promises , the term MAD you used in your video title is offensive for the people with mental health issues. What you don’t understand ?

    • @SandcastleDreams
      @SandcastleDreams Před 3 lety

      Perhaps you should look at it from a bit of a different perspective and perhaps then, you might understand that the term describes a DEGREE of Mental Illness. My husband and I both have mental health issues and we do pretty well, we are both stable; however, there are some with mental illnesses that are "stark raving mad" and there are no medicines to help them and no treatments.
      Those poor souls are usually institutionalized because they are either violent or act out in ways that are very bad for children to be around or cannot be kept safely at home without endangering themselves.
      OR they have gone past the tipping point and cannot return. My husband had a relative whose invention was stolen from him and he never got over it. They had to institutionalize him.
      My mother was found wondering in the mountains in the middle of the winter with snow on the ground. She wasn't wearing a coat. She didn't even know my grandmother when they found her. She had had a complete breakdown. She never totally recovered. She was abused to the point that she snapped and she was always very fragile because of it.
      So, although she broke from reality, she didn't go so far that she couldn't return. ALTHOUGH, she did try to suffocate me with a pillow when I was a child because I had asthma and I was sick and couldn't breath, I was scared and I kept calling out for her. So, she shoved a pillow over my face until I passed out.
      Then, there are head bangers. Some do it when things go bad. Others do it constantly. Head bangers can bash their brains out if you can't keep them either sedated or tied down or put them in a padded area where they can't hurt themselves. Some obsessively hurt themselves in other ways. Others hallucinate continually. Some practically shut down completely. There are many forms of madness.
      Be GRATEFUL if you are JUST mentally ill, but be mindful of the fact that there are some who are MAD!

    • @gm6719
      @gm6719 Před 3 lety

      @@SandcastleDreams the term mad is unacceptable and no matter what you say does not describe anyone with mental illness at any level or degree. The moment you call someone mad you show the level of education social awareness, lack of compassion. I suggest you to read the DSM 5 if you want to start naming mental and neurological illnesses.

    • @SandcastleDreams
      @SandcastleDreams Před 3 lety +1

      @@gm6719 "the term mad is unacceptable"... Well, who made you God??? And I have participated in one of the groups that influenced the writing of the DSM-IV. Participating in one of the "Train the Trainer" Workshops was an honor. It was also enjoyable to force Social Workers to solve real life issues. I was also sent to Tallahassee to represent our district.
      Yes, "mad" does describe people. What are you, 15 years old? You have no concept of history? It's not about having compassion or not having compassion. You expect people in other countries to be all touchy feely, Social Justice Warriors or something, if that's so you are not living in reality.
      For that matter, have you ever been in an Insane Asylum? I'm not talking about a Crisis Center or the wing of a hospital used for people that are going through rehab. I'm talking about a good old fashioned Insane Asylum where people are locked up for life.
      I have. I carried an AA Meeting into the same one that my Grandmother worked at 20 years prior. Guards were standing in the room as I shared my story. I was never so grateful to know that I would be allowed to leave while the others had to stay because at one time, I was a candidate.
      Have you ever been homeless since they emptied out most of those hospitals? Have you met the people that were DUMPED out there with no way of coping?
      I have. You worry about labels either because you are naive or too inexperienced with life to deal with what the truth is.
      I deal with reality because I not only survived the Mental Health system but I beat the odds!
      The District Supervisor for Social Security pulled me into her office while I was at that "Train the Trainer" Workshop, and said, "I've read your file. I've read your history and what you've gone through and the progress you've made and I have to ask you, How did you stay out of prison or the mental hospital?"
      I looked at her with all honesty and said, "By the Grace of God and working my rearend off".
      So don't go preaching to me about compassion or social awareness! YOU haven't personally done one single thing for people who are mentally ill. And neither will you. You are nothing but platitudes and PC attitudes.
      You want to help someone with mental illness? True mental illness? Go out on the streets and find the homeless guy that's talking to himself and take him a cup of coffee and a bag with some clean socks, soap and washcloth, toothbrush and toothpaste. Take him a nice thick blanket or a tarp.
      Help him find some shelter, if he doesn't try to kill you in the process, and then get back to me.
