  • In this video I talk about my iron and some things to think about if you are considering one. I really like the way it is made up of components that can be replaced as they wear out. The simple, straight forward controls are a plus for me as well. My wife and I both enjoy using this iron.

    I realize this is an older video, but I'd like to offer a suggestion. I would plug the power cord into a higher outlet. If the water tube or the connection develops a leak, water will run down the plug and into the outlet. If the power cord goes up first and then plugs in, the water will drip from where the cord bends upwards rather than into the outlet. Great video; I've been curious about this type of iron.

    Great informational video. Like this iron. You seem to have a nice work studio and workshop to spread out and work comfortably. That’s something I wish I had. Thanks for this explanation.

    You can use an IV pole to hang the water bottle. This will give you portability.

    That looks like a fine, commercial set-up Alex.
    Well thought-out and rigged.... like everything else that you do.

    Thanks for making this video, Alexander! I don't use an iron much, but the simplicity of this one is very appealing! Plus it looks cool :)

      I find that by ironing I use fewer clips and pins plus my sewing is more accurate. Thank you.

    Hi Alexander, just found your videos, very enjoyable. I have similar iron, but prefer your model for placement of temp dial. Thanks for tips on on cords and tubes, as IV pole isn’t working well. I am curious about your ironing station. What is it made from, covered with, etc.? It looks quite nifty. You remind me of my grandad - he could build and fix anything. Thank you and Happy New Year!

    Well done video with very helpful, honest observations. My wife is full time into patchwork - from quilts to bags to stockings.. the list is too long to mention here. Her next purchase is a really good gravity feed iron. Not many reviews on Google, so your video was most helpful. Do you have any updates since publishing this review on this iron? Also looking at the Goldstar and Sapporo? Or do you have suggestions? I know you're not an iron specialist but appreciate your experience. Thank you, Alexander!

    If you want portability, use an IV stand to hold the tank and is inexpensive and rolls to where you need it. The hose hangs away from your ironing surface.

    It is designed to be used in a clothing factory rather than the home. For home use, traditional steam irons with water reservoirs works best.

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  Před 6 lety

      True. I built this strap from denim and a folder on my sewing machine and attached the snap with my snap press. I am happy with my current set up. The cord and tube are out of my way and the iron can reach all points of the ironing board. Thank you for your comment. Here is how I built my snap setter czcams.com/video/8YAw-13czTQ/video.html
