      Yup, Tudor's "15 minutes of fame" is over.

      Probably skipped because market trends are different to the overhyped brands swamped with low level flippers wanting to make a quick buck. Tudor is a better value proposition. Only hyped one being the Harrods, which now can be mail ordered as opposed to purchased from store in person. The smug remark was the only entertaining comment in an otherwise boring presentation. I have bookmarked this for when I am suffering insomnia and need assistance in getting to sleep.

      Or maybe skipped Tudor because despite the CZcams hype, was ranked 17th in sales behind Hermes, and so is insignificant? Who would have thought expensive mass produced homages wouldn’t hold value?

      I like my BB58 a lot. Wears fantastic and well priced. Not sure where all the hate is coming from.

      @@ThriftyCHNRits not just that. Many reasons,
      ‘Temporary Collectors’ have moved on
      Grey shops are overstocked from hoarding to create the shortage to begin with
      Etc
      Etc

    Personally i think we'll see further downtrend for watches trading at 50K and up. Seems like no ones buying watches right now

    Thanks for the analysis. I wonder if we looked at the post-pandemic spending spree as an outlier and look at performance comparing today's prices to pre-pandemic trends, would the results look similar in relative degree of growth/fall? 🤔

    Are these values inflation adjusted? Nominal gain of 0.8% might be a real loss of 8% ...

    • @arthurmiller9434
      @arthurmiller9434 Před 6 dny +1

      Good point. Since the channel didn’t stated ‘adjusted for inflation’ you would reasonably assume the figures are unadjusted.

    Apologies dear but your basic assumption is incorrect
    You are comparing with the peak of 2022
    Take any stock market’s peak and compare it to the crashed market. The worst performer will be that was giving highest to flippers who had inflated that stock in the first place
    The worst performing stocks in a crash fall the least

    Guess that might be the reason Patek really hates the hype. It’s so heavily skewed one could say Patek watches perform poorly. If you acquired hype pieces at retail these models still net tremendous gains but it still isn’t a good look for the brand. For Rolex and Patek, I think the organic demand simply outweighs supply but for AP they have manipulated (and blatantly admitted) supply by to keep exclusivity, while I don’t blame them because the RO is really all the have but that also means AP is far more at risk for dropping significantly long after Rolex and Patek have stabilized.

    what does index weight mean ?

    • @WatchCharts
      @WatchCharts  Před 11 dny

      The index value is not a straight average of the market prices for all the watches in the index. Instead, each watch is weighted by its total transaction value.

    Your latest weekly report is very questionable in its legitimacy Who paid you off or pressured you to post the market going up. Dude I’m in every watch group from Moda to the WhatsApp groups and I can tell you prices have nerve been lower for HOMERUN pieces. Pepsis for $18k Batman’s from 12k-14.5 and 116500 Pandas 🐼 for 26k. That’s down down down

    so the top performers are women watches because women buy whatever.
