- This is a rear bumper kit from 4x4Labs. The best design in my opinion because of the improvement to the departure angle. This was honestly one of my favorite projects on the Land Cruiser.

Great Video, thanks. I just started mine and the tips were spot on and saved me some time. Great Bumper. Looks like 4 x 4 labs just updated their website and the photo of the bearing set up is not there. I did send a note to support and they sent me the picture right away. Thanks for blazing the trail for me.

@@lsswapped80 likewise...still all over the place on the rear bumper. Love the look of the Labs, hate the idea of the permanent cuts needed on the rear end. I'm always a fan of being able to reverse anything back to original if plans ever change...but, where's the fun in that?! 🙃

Excellent video! Thinking about tackling one of these on my 80 - by far the most detailed rundown on the DIY build I've come across. Have a ballpark on total hours to complete?
I don’t remember specifically, but I completed it in about a week of “evenings and weekends” after work. Including paint. Having a welder with a good duty cycle that allows you to keep welding is helpful.
Will this kit fit a 105 series?
Basically a 100 series body on a 80 series chassis
do you find yourself spending a lot of time figuring out camera angles? I do a lot of stuff to my HDJ81 but never film it because i'm lazy.
It does take a lot of extra time to set up the camera, figure out lighting, and explain what I’m doing to the camera. But I kind of enjoy it, and it changes my perspective while I’m working. Believe it or not, it keeps me in a better mood.

@@ldooffroad1823 Awesome I'm fabbing up one right now cause 5k is crazy to me for a bumper lol, I'm in about 400 after metal and heavy duty swingout bearings but ofcourse way more time working on it lol. Was curious what lift and tire size your running?
@@jraddd3477 running 2” OME lift, and at the time of the video I was running 33s. Now I’m running 35s. Same lift. No rub.
@@ldooffroad1823 Did you remove the the bearing sealer from the bottom of the spindle when you were welding up the arms? If not was it fine? I just don't want to melt it lol, also did welding the arms on did you do it with the bearings inside, if so did the heat warp them at all?
@@jraddd3477 If I remember correctly, I didn't install the seal until it was finished. As for the bearings, I believe I removed what I could before welding. I only tacked it together while assembled, then disassembled to fully weld. I did not go to the extent of pressing everything out though, just whatever came out by hand.
