I always think of personal style is with the understanding of our body, lifestyle, personality and choose a style best expressing ourselves. It is a conscious choice. Being trendy is wearing whatever is on trend. It is more like lack of personal style. Fashion industry relies on trend followers to buy whatever it cranks out continuously.
