    I like that u always talk to the camera as if we’re really there having a conversation (: thanks for that makes me feel more confident to do the work and that I can ask questions if needed. Truly a great teacher

      Wow, thank you so much. I still struggle talking on camera and it takes a lot of takes. My personality is so introverted, but I love to help people so it works out, lol. Thank you for your comments and yes if you have a questions, just reach out here or my instagram.

    Absolutely! Event decor is temporary. And for an event that lasts maybe 4-6 hours max, we have to take into account the budget and aesthetic. Thank you for making designs that keep this top of mind. Big fan!

      lol, yes for sure. Sometimes it backfires on me. I will accidentally glue something and realize I need to move it. And nope, wood glue has that thing bonded together forever. Thanks for commenting!

    Have you ran into any issues sanding and repainting in between jobs considering the thinness of the board?

    I build marquee letters with 3/4 MDF my first time lolllllll... yea now its 1/2 Ply. So much lighter. First backdrop, same thing. A full 4x8x3/4 plywood. Now 3x7 1/2ply. Thanks for the tips

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  Před rokem

      Thanks for commenting. Yeah same here. It still amazes me when I see prop builders using 3/4 inch MDF. I'm like dang that has to be heavy and a pain to setup. It would take 3 of us to transport the backdrop and make sure not to damage anything. So heavy lol. Switched it up quick

    Hello, this is what I use for my round walls Sande plywood 1/2 in with a 1/2 ply birch for the stand using heavy duty brackets in total it cost me around $75-$80 per wall by the second time they get booked i get my money back

      I have sand bags to hold them, i had 3 with the light wood but the Florida weather is crazy and they got damaged so switch to 1/2 in

    • @MakerDecor

      Yes, when making them yourself it is really easy to make you money back quick!

    Can you make a video on the back stand because my wall keeps falling forward how do i measure and how do i size the legs or base of the stand

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  Před rokem +1

      Hi, that depends on what backdrop you are building and the stand. If you are making the backdrop that has foldout legs. Then most likely the legs were not cut out straight and has the backdrop leaning forward. An easy fix is to actually unscrew the legs and reposition them up about 1/2 an inch and that should allow the backdrop to lean slightly back making it more stable. If you are creating the flat bottom as in this video. The one that only has the bottom plate in the back will always be prone to tipping forward as it has nothing in the front to resist and you must use weights to keep steady. Again the heavier you build or thicker the plywood the more weight you will need to keep from falling forward. So lighter is better. It is hard to give advice on here with out any more info or pics. If you are still having this issue, please message me on the Etsy store and send me a picture of what is going on and I can try my best to assist. Hope this helps and good luck!

    I’m curious, why plywood and not 1/4” mdf or eucaboard (I recently built an arch for a shoot and did it this way) but is there a specific reason?

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  Před rokem

      Hi, I have made some backdrops out of MDF and they take paint well and look great. But the small draw back is that it is heavier than plywood. So if I am looking at making these as light as possible especially for frequent use. Also the lighter they are the less weight is needed to keep the backdrop upright. With 1/4 inch you might now notice as big of a weight discrepancy but with thicker material such as 1/2 inch it definitely starts to add up. But weight is really the main reason. Hope this helps

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi, it has just has a small platform in the back. Then just add some weights or sand bags in the back for safety.

    How do you do the leg so it can stand on its own

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  Před 20 dny +1

      I have made a couple of different types. From fold out legs to attached bottom plywood sections. It just depends on the build.
