- Logan is an Old Man on a mission! Given a second chance, he's determined to put right what went wrong in the reality he knew: the night the villains joined forces and overcame the world's heroes, changing his life forever. ▸ What is Old Man Logan: Old Man Logan is an alternative version of the fictional character Wolverine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. This character is an aged version of Wolverine set in an alternate future universe designated Earth-807128, where the supervillains overthrew the superheroes. Introduced as a self-contained story arc within the Wolverine ongoing series by writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven, the character became popular with fans. After the Death of Wolverine, Laura Kinney took the Wolverine mantle but an Old Man Logan from the similar Earth-21923 was brought in to serve as an X-Man and featured in his own ongoing series.

I still don't understand how Logan aged so rapidly for old man logan. This man lived for 200 years and was only in his prime. How can he go from that to an old man in just 20-30 years?
I like to think it's like how Presidents age. The X-men meant alot to him and the stress of killing them might have taken enough of a toll to cause him premature aging.

No, when Wolverine's healing factor stops working, he will NOT have a hundred more years to go. He'd have maybe 1.The healing factor is constantly fighting off heavy metal poisoning from the adamantium coating his bones.
Remember back in the day when Lady Deathstrike found out Logan had the adamantium taken from him and lost her drive and purpose in life?

Can't get enough of these. I'm learning more than I ever did about many of the marvel characters. Most of what I gained was from friends and the old x-men cartoon.
I agree, it's wild that the best Wolverine is the"newest" who happens to also be the "oldest." I have long been a fan of the badass old dude, Master Roshi, Puma Loco, etc

I agree with your opinion, I've never gotten into stand alone Wolverine stories until Old Man Logan.
Old man logan is awesome but I do hate the fact that they nerft his heeling factor and made it possible for him to die of old age, I prefer him when he's immortal.
his healing factor is gonna burn out, then he'll live out a full human life he's gonna be ancient.

Loup Blanc he was never immortal he was just aging very slowly.
the adamantium in his body is poisoning him. which is why he's aging, because there's a foreign object in him. his healing factor is still trying to push out the adamantium in the body. he hasn't not finished mutating.
Isn't that also part of why X-23 both had less adamantium put in her and why she heals faster is that she only has adamantium claws instead of having all bones incased in it.
Excellent video on a excellent story. I agree that this is fantastic writing and artwork; it's very cool to see someone doing a compelling Logan character while still maintaining a large action component. Especially since Logan is not a mindless killing machine. Until he is. But he tries other things before unleashing the beast; which is a change of pace from, I would say, most if not all of his publication history.

I love how in the mind of Logan the largest and most important image is of his family.
Making Wolverine age was probably the best decision they ever made for his character. Seeing go from an invincible bad ass to a struggling mortal man makes him a lot more interesting.

I had to re-watch three minutes because it got so confusing, and that's not the first time I've had to do that.

Rob, just to address a point you made about healing factor with old man Logan and it slowing down, it was said long ago that the majority of Wolverines healing factor goes to fight the Adamantium poisoning, I believe with was established if a few of the rags after Magneto tore out his skeleton.

It shows to everyone. Logan is fundamentally a good guy and is human enough to live a good life. Convincing a child omega level mutant, by looking deep into his soul, including the part where he kills the older version of him.

The art work you speak of is the same way i feel about David Mack's work in Echo the Daredevil story. Matter of fact i got some of the posters done from that series.
