Vigo's actor, Wilhelm von Homburg, aka German boxer Norbert Grupe, had no idea they dubbed over his own voice with Swedish acting legend Max von Sydow. He only found out when the movie released and that really bummed him out, especially after he had hoped for a big break after his role as Karl in "Die Hard". Von Sydow would later reprise the role as Vigo in the 2009 video game.
Vigo's full name is Vigo von Homburg-Deutschendorf. "Von Homburg" of course coming from his actor and Deutschendorf from Hank (RIP) and William Deutschendorf, the nephews of singer John Denver, who played Baby Oscar.
Will and Hank are John Denver's nephews not grandchildren. I miss Hank a lot. He was a good man.

The newest Ghostbusters movies that came out, titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife and this years Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire are pretty much Ghostbusters 3 and 4 in the direct line of Ghostbusters movie. Without giving anything away, Ghostbusters Afterlife and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire are directly connected to Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. Until Afterlife came out , Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009) was considered the third movie, because even though it's a video game, it's also very much a movie, with a story line. Also, the video game cast is Bill Murray (Venkman), Dan Aykroyd (Ray), Harold Ramos (Egon) and Ernie Hudson (Winston). For a long time, Dan Aykroyd, who also wrote the two original movies, as well as the video game storyline (along with Harold Ramis) said that because of Bill Murray's refusal to do a sequel, the game would have to be the third movie.
If you liked the two original, then you need to check out GB: Afterlife and GB: Frozen Empire. As I said, they both direct sequels, and follow (All beit 40 years later) the original two. Both are directly connected to the original two movies.

Bill Murray had an unpleasant experience making the movie. He liked the script when he read it before signing on, but he says that the script changed dramatically by the time production began, which made him unhappy. That's understandable, since no one wants to be bait-and-switched.
One of the film's major criticisms is that it feels too much like a retread of the first movie. It introduces contrived plot elements that only seem to exist in order to make the film fit the OG's story beats and formula, giving it a feeling of "more of the same."
Ultimately, his poor experience on Ghostbusters 2 and the movie's lukewarm reception put Bill Murray off wanting to make a Ghostbusters 3. Every time a script came around, he was the lone holdout. At one point, he said that the only time he'd return for a third movie was if his character Peter Venkman was killed off and turned into a ghost, a demand that seemed so cynical that it basically guaranteed a Ghostbusters 3 wouldn't happen.
However, there was a Ghostbusters video game in 2009 that saw all four original Ghostbusters return to provide their voices, and it could effectively be considered the Ghostbuster 3 that we never got. But as far as a cinematic Ghostbusters 3 goes, Ghostbusters: Afterlife pretty much fills that role, though it is more of a "legacy sequel" with almost a completely new cast of characters.
The 2016 Ghostbusters movie was an attempted remake/reboot, completely ignoring the previous movies and acting like they never happened. It sparked a lot of controversy, largely because it got wrapped up in derision from fans that didn't want to see the previous movies get ignored and the beloved OG cast get replaced, and culture war misogyny over the new cast of all-female Ghostbusters. Production company Sony and director Paul Feig only compounded the controversy by responding combatively, alienating much of the very fanbase they were relying on for the movie's success.

@@Spottedfeather They mean as part of 1 and 2 sure Afterlife is 3 but to a lot of fans the Videogame on PS3/4 is part 3 as it uses story elements from one of the iterations of part 3's script.
I dont understand why Ghostbusters 2 was hated on 🤷♂️ Same goes for Batman & Robin. For me it was my favorite guilty pleasure movies.

It just didn't live up to the original, and the Ghostbusters starting out as having gone out of business just didn't make sense given how beloved they were at the end of the first one. Also, Winston with no mustache?? Totally uncalled for 😄

Unpopular opinion; I prefer Bobby Brown's theme over the original RPJr's. I love GB2, while not as good as the original (that'll never be topped), I think it has as many, if not more laughs. Janos for example, freaking gold.

As adults the twins opened a martial arts studio in San Diego which remains open today.
Sadly after a long battle with schizoaffective disorder, Hank Deutschendorf died by suicide in an apartment already back in June 2017.

I really like this one. Taking place five years after the events of the first movie, loved seeing what the characters have been up to since saving NYC from the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Fun Fact: The kid at the birthday party that tells Ray and Winston that the Ghostbusters are "full of crap" is Jason Reitman(son of director Ivan Reitman). He would go on to direct "Ghostbusters: Afterlife".

Also, there's "Ghostbusters: The Video Game", which came out for Steam and Epic Games (PC), and various video game consoles back in 2009, and then a remastered release in 2019 for the same platforms. It's meant as a sequel to Ghostbusters II, as a third movie in video game form. The game takes place in 1991.
The commercial in the montage was intended to be the trailer for this movie however it was scrapped. It recently was released in its entirety and is really fun to watch. Soooo many cut scenes from this movie. Not many are out there sadly.

I don't think the lady 'psychic' at the beginning 'cheated.' It's pretty strongly implied that she was drugged by a man at a hotel bar and...well...taken to his hotel room. She remembers this as being taken aboard an alien spacecraft, which she still suspects may have been a hotel room. It's a really dark joke, honestly.

Ghostbusters 3 never happened because the studio thought the script was to weird, the ghostbusters videogame is essentially what was supposed to happen in the 3rd movie then obviously the true sequel was Ghostbusters afterlife

Hey if and when you watch Ghostbusters Afterlife, there are two mid-credit/post-credit scenes. I don't know about Ghostbusters Frozen Empire yet.
Ghostbusters 3 was Bill Mury's consent scrip rejection however we did get it in the form of a video game or maybe in he form of Ghostbusters Afterlife. Also here is Frozen Empire , Ghostbusters 2016 and Extreme Ghostbusters

the 2009 video game is still considered to be the 3rd movie, it was the LAST time the whole cast worked together. they made cameos in the 2016 reboot, before reuniting in the 2021 movie Ghostbusters Afterlife and the 2024 movie Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.
They changed Janine’s appearance in this one to look like the cartoon. 19:39 judicial mistrangement order? Never heard of one of those😆. 27:41 yeah Dan Ackroyd was the head of the Conehead family. 41:39 yeah he’s being controlled by Vigo. Earlier Vigo shot light bolts into Janosz and being under Vigo’s control was able to give him the power to fly over to grab Oscar. 54:19 Ghostbusters 3 is Ghostbusters: Afterlife. There was a couple reasons the third didn’t happen. Murray didn’t like some of the scripts. He and Harold Ramis had a falling out after Groundhog Day. They made up not long before Ramis passed away. Murray went to see him but didn’t know where he lived so he went to the police department (I believe with donuts) and asked where to find Harold Ramis and they gave him an escort over. Another reason was Ramis getting sick and passing away. They tried to do a “reboot” with an all female cast but they couldn’t capture the magic they got with Aykroyd, Murray, Ramis & Hudson. I believe Aykroyd was able to get Murray interested in a third movie and made Afterlife. I think if they would’ve had the girl cast be family of the original guys or trainees it would’ve done better. It was entertaining but not Ghostbuster caliber. So in the Ghostbusters universe you have Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Then as a standalone you have Ghostbusters (also called Ghostbusters: Answer the Call). If I were you guys I would wait until watching Frozen Empire before watching the 2016 girls version just to not get confused between the second and third movie.

I've always liked this more than the original. I don't care what those haters say. Nor do I care what they say about the new sequels, or the all-female reboot - which I thought was actually REALLY GOOD. I like to think that Ghostbusters takes place in alternate universe. It was definitely original in it's own way, but it kept a lot of cool things.
3:48 I don’t understand why this kids are wanting He-Man in 1989? Because the cartoon stop airing in 1985 and the toy line was done in 1988. So those kids would have been chanting for the Ninja Turtles.
The live-action He-Man/Masters Of The Universe movie (with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man) came out in 1987) and Ghostbusters 2 started filming in 1988 & of course the animated re-runs were part of the USA Network Cartoon Express by that time, so He man was still out there...BUT, you are correct that the TMNT animated series was starting to gain massive popularity by 1988 (since its premiere on TV Saturday mornings in December of 1987). Chalk that up to writers Dan Ackroyd & Harold Ramis and/or director Ivan Reitman for not being up on pop culture for kids at the time and/or not being able to use the legal/licensing of the TMNT property.
@See Jane Go TV - After the success of the first 2 ghostbusters movies, there were talks about doing a 3rd one. All the cast were up for it but it seems that there were apparently some reservations coming from Bill Murray - Some rumors mentioned Murray not being happy with the various scripts versions presented over the years. There was also a quarrel between Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, up until Ramis' passing, that put some brakes on the project moving forward. Murray was able to meet with Ramis and get some resolution before Ramis passed away. Then, It seemd very hard to do another Ghostbusters movie without Ramis ( Playing Egon ). However, the studio decided to do a Reboot with all all female cast, which could have been a good ide on paper. However, despite a talented cast lead by Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, the 2016 Reboot was a failure, mostly due to a tasteless script, uninspired direction and no real connection to the original, and failed to recapture the essence of the first 2 movies. However, the Franchise was given another chance with the 'Ghostbusters Afterlife' movie, which was directed by Jason reitman (The son of Ivan Reitman, the original director of the first 2 movies ) - And this one was truly well written, directed and really was a legitimate sequel to the first 2 movies - Well worth a watch
I recommend watching my favorite movie of my life, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” with Ben Stiller. This film is perfect in everything: music, landscapes, actors, philosophy, etc. You will definitely like this movie.

Yes there is a 3rd and a 4th installment, they are in the cast and they are great movies! Includes Paul Rudd aka Ant Man. The all female cast ghostbusters was enjoyable but it was kind of a reboot.
